Thanks RichieRich. So something like this: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPB45&P=7
With the standard chassis, I have to mount it sideways? Is there anyway to mount it like MikeDealer? I assume I'd have to drill holes, correct.

Re: Ultima steering
I put in an OTW-10 Kyosho steering set-up (recommended by RichieRich). I like it, but how do you mount the servo when you flip it like in MikeDealer's pics. First, I think I need a micro-servo and then are you drilling new holes.

Re: Red Ultima RB5
I like it. But, I'd want a used RB5 - otherwise it would be so expensive and I wouldn't like downgrading a new car.

Re: LOHAS Red Ultima
Looks good - keep us posted. I never see pics of the Hot Trick or Red Lohas cars with bodies on them, I like the look with the body.

Re: Need help with Turbo Ultima
I love the look of the platinum shocks, but back when I had a Turbo Ultima I traded them for a pair of gold ones. The gold ones were/are so reliable.

Re: Give me some buggy body options for Optima/Turbo Optima
Get a Javelin rollcage. These look great, but they are so expensive and really only for shelf-queens now.

Re: Turbo Optima
thanks TamiyaDan. I had a belt drive Optima and the maintenance you described was a pain (and the disassembly to work on anything). But, I love the Optimas and it sounds like I need to restore a Mid to see the differences.

Re: What electronics?
I second the Tower/Tactic radio. There are other options with more bells and whistles, but the Tower one is plug and play. It has inexpensive receivers to add to other cars and no antennae - I am pleased with it.

Re: Turbo Optima
So how did racing the Turbo Optima Mid SE compare to the souped up belt-drive Optima? I like the look of the rear drive Optimas, but was there a big jump in improvement going to the Turbo Mid SE?

Missing bind screw
I need one M3 x 45 bind screw to finish putting the motor guard on my Kyosho Turbo Ultima. I had one (but I needed 2) and I have several that are M3 x 40, but I'm missing this one. Any advice on where to get one? Thanks for the help! Edit = Ordered one online, took awhile, but I think I found a match.

Re: To restore or not to restore???
Just like me - if it sits on the shelf too long, I Ebay it. I tend to want to restore another one rather than look at them or even run them.

Re: new rc10s junk???
SteveK is exactly right. I watched a documentary on manufacturing in China. China used to be known for high quality goods like plateware (in the US china came to mean high end plateware). Foreign companies wanted cheap goods and they pushed for cheap labor and cheap quality - and China accommodated....

Re: Report: Vintage RC10's racing at our indoor track
Great read, thanks. So, putting new tires on vintage cars seems like a must. How have tires evolved so much - is it the size, tread?
