Re: new battery charger question

A couple local racers use the Hyperion gear here too-- they have decent lipos too if you're looking to get into that. And no complaints that I know of. I also have the MRC 989 and have had good luck with it. I don't 'push' it to extremes for charging, but use it for lipos (at 4amps), nimhs & nic...

Re: *** The official VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS thread ***

Mark/Erich - is there going to be a "cut-off" date for entries? or will you take sign-up the weekend of the race?? If you do allow signups on race day, will they still get the t-shirt? or are you doing that as a "signup by XX date" thing to get the shirt? This didn't get answere...

Re: Happy Father's Day

It was a great day! :D I spent the better part of the afternoon running Micro-Ts in the basement with my two kids. After about 6 battery swaps, my son (6) was really getting the hang of it. My daughter (8) has a little more practice (and patience) and has previously run pretty much everything I own ...

These were just bashing in 1986, but here's a couple I scanned a while ago. We were at an r/c float plane competition and had some time to kill....

If I provide a pic, can someone photoshop siebenelch's new rig flying high above my Hotshot???
Seriously, those Yokomos were ahead of their time! I'll have plenty of opportunities to watch it go by on the track.....

Re: super champ score

He did say that the oil reservoir was cracked though. Are they very hard to find? I'm assuming a premium price for any SRB parts. The "reservoir" was the 9cc damper oil bottle if I remember correctly. I've got a couple kicking around if you need one. Nice find btw-- SRBs are not my cup o'...

Re: Hello everyone! Another new member... more old rides

Actually I think the foams were premounted, but the rears in the pic are Duratrax rubber slicks on original 3 piece wheels. I have the matching front slicks on Tamiya 1.5" fronts (Grasshopper) and was using CRP front stub axles (with metric bearings) when I first got this out- rubber all around...

Re: *** The official VINTAGE OFFROAD NATIONALS thread ***

Are there any camp grounds locally? I am not afraid of a tent and actually have 2 that have yet to be opened. And they are at least 4 years old. Check out Gentile's Campground in Plymouth-- I got 13 minutes to the track on mapquest (7.69 miles). http://www.ctvisit.com/PropertyDetail.aspx?id=2476 Th...

Re: Hello everyone! Another new member... more old rides

Some nice looking rides you have there, how did you get that carpet prep'd RC10 so low? The shocks have fuel tubing on the shaft inside to limit travel-- then you just have to adjust the turnbuckles to get proper camber. There's about 1/4" of ground clearance. ;) I just ran it yesterday for th...

Hello everyone! Another new member... more old rides

Hello all! I got into r/c in 1985 and raced for a couple years in New Hampshire. I had tons of fun with the hobby and, after a 20 year break, my kids are old enough to join in the fun! Over the past year and a half I pulled a lot of old buggys out of storage and they're all running now. A couple of ...
