Re: STRC layshaft parts alternatives?
Thanks for the suggestion. However I was actually able to find the spring on the wall at the LHS. Finished putting it together this afternoon.

STRC layshaft parts alternatives?
I picked up the STRC layshaft to run the associated slipper, and some of the parts that they list to use with the shaft are discontinued. What are the alternatives to use? The 5-40 locknut I can find, but the 9605 slipper spring I can't find. What are you all running in it's place if you don't have ...

Re: Spur gear options??
I got my Kimbrough spur gears in and was able to use one of their 69tooth options. The friction pegs fit in fine and the center hole where the hex bushing goes was just a few thousandths to big and there was just a little bit of movement. But I put it all together anyway and ran it on the track. I g...

Re: 2wd Rear wheel wobble fix
No need for the thinner 3mm bearing? That’s good to know. I’ll look into those too.
I’m wondering if aftermarket rear hubs eliminate some rear slip too? RPM rear stub axle carriers sort of state that they make their carriers with a tighter fit. I might have to try those too sometime.

2wd Rear wheel wobble fix
So I've been working on my Bandit, and one thing that really bugged me was how sloppy it was. I was able to shim out most of the suspension slop, but one area that I just couldn't tighten up was the rear wheels. There was too much play between the bearing face and the pin and the stub axle face. I t...

Re: Spur gear options??
I will probably be doing the STRC top shaft soon, just wanted to try other options. I’ve got a few Kimbrough spurs on the way, so I’ll see how those work out. Jim at Kimbrough said the inner diameter is a little bigger on the Spurs he’s sending, but maybe I can make a spacer to take up the room. Jus...

Spur gear options??
I was finally able to hit the track with my Bandit and I was severely under geared. Started with a 84/24 then went to an 84/27 and ended the day with an 84/31. And I still was not able to clear the jumps I should have been able to. Also, with the 31 pinion, I could not put the gear cover on, so that...

@GoMachV
Finally got the 7171 wheels in. Unfortunately the offset is now to much. They push the width out too far now. Thank you for the option though. I will mess around with different width wheel hexes and hope for the best.

Re: Mid motor Bandit project
I was wondering why yours was raised up off the chassis. I did it this way because it seemed cleaner. But I will have to see how the camber links align and adjust accordingly.

Re: Mid motor Bandit project
And on a different project, I was impressed how GoMachV used a nitro Rustler bulkhead on his TRX-B and wanted to give it a try. You see in the pictures I didn’t get it right on the first try. This is just a scrap piece to test the hole locations, and good thing I tried it first. I got it right the s...

Re: Mid motor Bandit project
Update! Had some free time today and got one little piece done. I’m honestly less than enthusiastic about it though. I don’t really like the design or the idea of the entire rear suspension relying on one small contact point. Not sure who at traxxas thought this was a good idea. I made it really snu...

Re: TRX-B (poor mans TRX3) and SRT-R (you guessed it!)
Thanks for the tip. I will take a look at those wheels. I am actually building up a Bandit with rear motor that I put associated wheels on it. I just think the offset is too deep and the inside lip of the wheel will contact the rear shock. But I’m going to take a look at the e-revo wheels

Re: TRX-B (poor mans TRX3) and SRT-R (you guessed it!)
Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I had a quick question for GoMachV. The rear wheels on your TRX3-B are they the Traxxas wheels? And do they have a 12mm hex? TRA2474 I’m having what I think are fitment issues with some associated wheels I purchased. They are rubbing on the rear shocks. I was thin...

Re: Mid motor Bandit project
Small update. No progress on this project unfortunately. Works been crazy. But I did get an older all black chassis Rustler roller that I am going to convert to a Bandit. I wanted to give it a try with a rear motor configuration so I can have a reference for how it reacts on the track when I do comp...

Re: Need help identifying this RC10
Yeah. $40 straight up. Probably my fault too when I started asking if he had any other spare parts or hop ups to go with it. Got too greedy. I was buying a Rustler roller from him too, so I was trying to work the bundle deal angle.
