STRC layshaft parts alternatives?

I picked up the STRC layshaft to run the associated slipper, and some of the parts that they list to use with the shaft are discontinued. What are the alternatives to use? The 5-40 locknut I can find, but the 9605 slipper spring I can't find. What are you all running in it's place if you don't have the spring requested?

I haven't tried it myself, but the Traxxas spring 4494 or the high tesion version should also work.

Thanks for the suggestion. However I was actually able to find the spring on the wall at the LHS. Finished putting it together this afternoon.
