Re: To oil a shelfer?
Apologies if this has been discussed, search didn't warrant much relevant.... what is the consensus on filling shocks for a shelf car? I have a build in mind with vintage unassembled shocks, and I'm thinking to just use a little bit of shock oil during assembly just to lubricate the o-rings, but no...

Re: The cheapest tub pan on eBay
Por 15 is ideal for something like this, but it likely cost more than you paid for the pan. For something on the cheap, I'd probably use Rustoleum spray bedliner. Its tough and the texture (sandy) hides imperfections. it's already pretty smooth so there isn't much to hide with a texture. It's more ...

Re: The cheapest tub pan on eBay
Nice work, im about to pull out some bondo for some experiments on a couple of trashed tubs myself. Looking forward to the progress. I have some ideas please let me know how it goes for you. Buying a trashed tub gives me freedom to try stuff. I used Bondo glaze and spotting putty which is not like ...

Re: RC10 Team car restoraion
Quick story with the tires, this came with the original white wheels, not sure of the exact size but the rears were a little smaller diameter than the fronts. I am pretty sure the fronts are 1.9". The wheels were a bit scratched up and had some paint on them so I wet sanded them down at bit an...

Re: The cheapest tub pan on eBay
got a jump on this is the morning. I applied the bondo and sanded it back down to the bare tub. 2FA617B2-0A2B-47AE-8C37-35F90744397B.jpeg 4C995AD8-FA44-47B1-8758-73C9D6855D63.jpeg The spots of filler indicate low point and holes that were filled. I use a full sheet of sandpaper on a ceramic tile to ...

The cheapest tub pan on eBay
I had an idea for a project that I am trying to keep to parts I have on hand and under $100 in other parts. I found the least expensive tub on eBay and bargained the price down. It arrived in time for the weekend and I am excited. From the eBay pics it was scratched and had some damage but it was in...

Re: RC10T tires do modern 2.2" fit
Jconcepts, Schumacher, Panther, and Pro-Line still make tires for 2.2 stadium truck wheels. Just be sure not to order short coarse tires. And be careful not to buy crawler tires. Even though they might be 2.2, they are probably for multi-piece beadlock wheels. Thanks. It sounds like I can keep the ...

Re: Startin the run what ya brung build of a Team Car
The replacement fasteners from fastener expires arrived today and as they are just the right fit. C1E85ABB-A7C9-4496-BB0F-47EF7A965A1B.jpeg They seem to be ever so slightly larger than my old stock screws but they may be because the original screws are worn from many rebuilds. I am happy to have the...

Re: Startin the run what ya brung build of a Team Car
So a few things arrived today and the most exciting with what I am wrapping my car with. I saw a really impressive video on Reddit a few weeks ago about a product from XPEL. This is a protector that is used on full size off road trucks. Compared to normal chassis wraps it is less expensive at $13 fo...

Re: == Who the Heck Are You? ==
I am a father of 2 who is getting back into RC. I've worked way to much and want to show my kids that adults can do things that are enjoyable. So this isn't a side hustle or another way to make a extra few bucks a week. Getting back into RC is exposing my sons to machines, cad and 3d printing in a w...

Re: 3D Printed Stainless Steel Outdrives
Dynotech makes proper (likely better than oem) replacements for $50/pr on eBay I saw that there was one last pair. What I saw was aluminum and I have concerns about the longevity for general bashing. I may have a shelf build lined up as 3rd in my queue where that should be ok, but steel is my first...

Re: Startin the run what ya brung build of a Team Car
Just be sure that whatever 8-32 screws you use have a 100° angle, not the more common 82°. RC10 pans are not thick enough to fully seat an 82°, 8-32 screw. I thought that I was. I spent a bit of time trying to make sure I was getting the correct thing. I just wrote fastener express about the issue ...

Re: How to clean/refurbish steel ball studs?
Seems like putting them in a drill is the way to go. I 'll avoid the sand paper and go for my brass wire wheel and some polish. Thanks all. I went with the drill and rand them ball and thread against 1200 grit sand paper, a brass brush and a magic eraser. I did the ball and the studs. It took less ...
