Tamiya has re released the Boomerang.....

That sucks, I just spent (in my mind) way too much for a NIP bodyset. I guess the parts will become cheap here shortly to those restoring an older one.....

Yup, tower has them coming soon also. I have an original that I love, much easier to access electronics than with the hotshot due to the tub chassis. More variety in the oldskool 4wd class I guess

Hope they re-release the BigWig or SuperShot!
As a kid,I used to buy beat up Boomerangs and convert them into BigWigs.
Parts were cheap, back then and my LHS always had the BigWig parts in stock.
The SuperShot is a cool looking car...Never owned one, though I've owned every other car in that year's Tamiya catologue.

My first was a boomerang aswell, but I can't for the life of me remember that lexan part... after all that's over 20 years ago.
I hope they'll have spare bodies in the shops soon; I won't buy the kit (once was enough) but I'd love to do another ultima in desguise

I used to realy love the Boomerang as a kid. Its funny what promotional catalogues will do to a young mind- he he. Tamiya cars always looked ace in the commercials or built up in shop windows. Pitty they never seemed to drive that well on the track though ( Hotshot bump steer anyone??)
Although I reckon in the right hands I think they could be made to perform a little more respectibly.
So what other re-releases are on the grape vine? I hope they do the BigWig.

Yeah, the Bigwig wouldn't be too far off of the Boomerang. Might not happen seeing the Bigwig was the "anneversary" car kit. A Fox would be nice to see again. How about a Falcon or a Vanquish?

I was really jonesing for a Boomerang as my next step up from the Hornet when I was a kid. Of course I got the Tamiya catalog with the hornet to drool over. I remember calling Lakeside RC racing center wanting to know how much one was going for when they asked me: why not get an RC10 or an Ultima? Never been the same since.

i'd REALLY like to see them bring the blackfoot back. that's a kit i'd love to have.

the day my dad and i went to the hobby shop to get my first "kit" rc car, it was a toss up between the blackfoot and the midnight pumpkin. being as though we were/are both into old cars, the pumpkin fit the bill. at the time, i didn't know what 1/10 scale was compared to 1/12 scale. but i found out after i got my truck built and saw how much smaller it was compared to my friends blackfoot.

but, i'm glad i got it..... and happy that i still own it. the pumpkin kit had just come out when i got it. so, had we gone the the hobby shop a couple weeks earlier, my first kit would've been the blackfoot.

You, me and about a million others I think. I really don't understand why it hasn't been re-released yet. I think it would be one of the most popular re-releases they've done.

I'd like to see a Fox too. That way I could build one again, and run it. I still have my Fox from bitd, but I really don't want to run it.

Well, they've already released the Blackfoot as the Blackfoot Extreme and the King Blackfoot...With the origonal, that's three Blackfoots, already.
I can't see them doing a fourth, especially not as the origonal kit re-released.
My bet is they'll keep on with the Boomerang/Hotshot type cars-Like the Supershot & Bigwig.
They've already produced most of the parts stock with the HotShot and Boomerang re-releases.
Makes economic cents.

i am a fan of tamiya as well those catalouges were so cool, i took them to school and my mates and i all spoke about which ones we were getting, ive had most of them back in the day thanks to my old lady, got a bit sick of the parts breaking and having to buy parts tree's what a scam tamiya...then i found reel race cars with graphite and top suspension(jrx2) it has been hard to go back ever since i just adore carbon/titanium..still a fan of all rc cars though..what a top hobby its got me through some tough times  go the supershot!

you forgot the "super" blackfoot.

i don't see why they couldn't. none of the blackfoots that came after the original were the same as the first. so, they were blackfoots in name only. the original blackfoot had to be one of the most popular tamiya kits. if the want to make some money selling a bunch of kits, then that would be one to re-release.

I DID forget the Super Blackfoot-You'll have to excuse me,I'm a little rusty on my Tamiyas.
Ever since drooling over Associated,Kyosho and Losi' in RCCA,after owning near every Tamiya in the '88 catologue,I went Associated,Losi and Kyosho and haven't looked back.
I just thought of something-They re-released the Subaru Brat,so they've got a good deal of OG Blackfoot parts stock in production.
They may just do it.
I got a Blackfoot for Christmas in 1990,I dragged the folks along to my LHS,they bought the kit,I built it and they wrapped it up and put it under the Christmas tree...So,when they were out of the house,I'd pull the electronics out of my Turbo Ultima and give it a run!
That truck jumped and landed really well, even with the friction shocks.
