I really like the look of the 3 piece wheels Associated used. I'm even more impressed with the functionality. I never did like the idea of gluing tires onto rims.
If I'm correct, there are 7 different 3 piece wheels that were used. (original buggy, CE buggy and RC10T) What are the sizes of these wheels? Are there any new tires that will (or definitely won't) work with the 3 piece wheels? Thanks!!
1st gen fronts are 1.9"...........very hard to find tires for these in new condition.
1st gen rears are 1.5"........very hard to find anything but old tamiya tires for these.
CE three piece are 2 or 2.1.......can usualy find thes at the hobby shop pretty easy.
10t are 2.2" found easily
I get this is sort of a depends situation , but are you more apt to buy piece by piece r/c items or part lots? These would be used items also.

I scour the net for a particular part if I need it and also look at badly worded listings and generic things and have purchased a lot of items for just one particular thing. It seems to work out well in the long run, but you do get some stinkers...
I have been working on another project in my spare time, but have a question. I am building up a buggy with Klein rear arms to get some more extension. In my research, I was told to use some B44 rear CVD's. I think that i am using a RC10T...

What size bearings on the custom wotks hub? I have a few sets coming to use with the b44 cvd.
Just to confirm its 3/16 x 3/8 × 4 bearing size
thanks
Yes, this is the correct size of bearings for CVDs with 3/16 axles.
I want to finish off an Optima Hot Trick runner, but this important piece is holding it up. See the large hole drilled in it. Is there anyway to salvage this to make it work? Is there anyway to fill it and put a new hole? Could I cut and patch with...
I didn't think it was possible to find one of these NIB, but never say never. This is my third.... the other two 1s I have are in need of resto, but in very good shape. This to me is probably the one true holy grail of RC, especially NIB. I probably...

Other than the body and wheels and bushings, it looks as though this car could be duplicated in my garage.
I never thought about that before. Just make my own RC1ish car. I'm sure I'd be fine until I tried to run it.
So, after seeing this listed on EBay I made my mind up that I just had to own it. Something about the 'look' of it with its trailing wide-arm stance and the strange looking shell. And after a hefty bid, I became the new owner. The seller (Dennis)...

proline pan car rims
And here I was thinking they were a 3-piece derivative! Lol! FAIL!!!
I have another set that are brand new though. Happy days!
So, is it impossible these days to find tires for the old 3-piece wheels? Starting to realize from threads that most modern tires apparently don’t work. Was hoping I wasn’t going to have to convert my 10t over to 3/16, but is that the only or best...

Vettes are cool no matter how you look at it, I agree they have not always been the lookers they started out as. but look at everything in life? very few thing improve with age. We are not talking about Michele Pfiffer here she looks better as she...
Is there a screw kit that contains these, particularly the very short stubby one? I don't see it in the RC10 parts list or screw assortment.

If you can't find the shorty screw you can just cut down a longer one. You can get all the sizes from any of a number of hardware websites, like McMaster.com or others. Can even get them with hex drives.
