Rpm rc10bum

In my search for rc10 wrecks I found this. It looks to be unfinished but in mint condition. I got it for around what I have been picking up rc10t’s for.

It’s listed as an rpm rc10b ultra molded. Where can I find more information about this? I see a few build threads and one rcca article on this but not much else.

I’d like to learn some more about it. It’s all white rpm parts and those seem to be hard to get at reasonable prices. Was this car raced on the higher end circuits? Is there a particular paint and body scheme(aka box art) for this car? How would it have been finished out?

Would this be a good runner if I put in the extra parts? Do the rpm parts need to be rehydrated like the associated parts do?

Any cool stories would be great.

EDIT:
Found a link to the RCCA article
https://www.rccaraction.com/classic-plastic-richard-royall-rpm/
For anyone else looking.

There were 2 versions made. A buggy and a truck version of the chassis. They were designed to hold the RPM worlds front and rear ends kits without the need to cut the associated chassis.

It looks like this was sold as a kit from the RPM parts thread #8080 ULTRA MOLDED CHASSIS Narrow RC10 Edition (Entire kit with arms)

link to an e-bay auction for a complete, but RIT dyed, kit from 2015

With the part number I was able to google search for a post from LTO dave with the kit instructions.

I'll have to look. I think I have a RCCA article on it, or associated with it.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Nice find! That looks like something that would be very frustrating to try to get replacement parts for, if they broke.

Oi that's a good point. Most of the parts would be hard to find and expensive when I did. Makes it hard to think of this as a runner, then again being made entirely of RPM parts should be pretty hard to break.

Same front end and back end suspension parts mind you as their “ 91 Worlds “ pieces.
Who do you race for ?
Me……. I race for me.
That’s impossible, I was told you need a sponsor to race.

Thanks for the AD link. It looks like I won't have the top transmission brace or the bottom of the motor brace.

Believe it or not you can still get the black aluminum motor guard through RPM. It’s the same as the AE piece for graphite chassis cars. Shoot em an email and they’ll let you know how. The trans brace pops up from time to time on eBay.

Btw not really a candidate to be a runner in my opinion, all these parts in new condition being white still are pretty rare.

Really? RPM has the aluminum motor guard available? I have a couple of buggies that need it but hoping not to pay $30 each.

Yeah very rare in that condition and I definitely wouldn't run that.

That is kind of shocking. I might as well as order one. I reached out directly to RPM asking for information. Lets see if they mention it.

I know nothing about them, but know that is an awesome find! Congrats!
I build RCs like people would have done back in the '90s ..................................... if they had 3D printers.
