Awesome find!! It's incredible how some people practically give their stuff away.
Those mint green ball cups show it's had some attention recently.
If it were mine, I'd spend a little time cleaning it (although it doesn't need much) and probably flip it on ebay.

Yeah, it's all 1990. Except the rear wheels and tires.

Nice catch.
Is it going to end up with a truck front bulkhead?

I thought about narrowing the kick-up for a truck bulkhead. But Worlds or Dynotech arms with a 6 gear doesn't seem right to me.

Gotta figure out exactly what I want to do with it first. I'll tear it down, clean everything, and go from there. I should be able to CA an clamp the nose and it look alright from the top. Put a bumper on it and you wouldn't see the bottom. But we'll see.

I dug out an old Futaba magnum jr. radio and got the electronics all set up. Charged up a nicad pack and took it outside to rip around a bit. Runs pretty good. :)

Other than the chassis damage that can be mostly repaired, that is a great looking car. Congratulations!

Why can I never find deals like this on craigslist?

I usually don't either. This is only the second car I've got from CL.

Yeah, it really is in nice shape. No extra holes in the chassis is a plus. And besides the rear arm mounts being on the wrong sides, it's built very well. No real plier marks on the ball cups... stuff like that.

Every Graphite I've seen with any miles on it has the chassis de-laminating at the front (including my own). I guess it's possible for every one of them to have been driven into fence posts but it seems odd. Was it also common for them to de-laminate from normal track use?

I think a lot of it is because the front edge is not squared off. It's cut at 90* to the ground.

Nice work, craigslist by me rarely turns up bargains, full of over priced junk or full retail new stuff.

I tore the car down the other day. Glued up the damaged corner and clamped it in the vice until it dried. the following day I trimmed about an 1/8" of the front edge to clean it up.

Doing a light resto on this. Not getting crazy with it. But, I am gonna beef up the electronics a bit. It will retain the Novak T4. The Futaba receiver will be replaced by a Novak ner-2s. The Futaba s28 servo will be replaced by an s131s, and the stock motor will be replaced by a Revtech 15t mod.
