MRC Rabbit Dogbone hard to find!

Post by supar_nollie »

Hello everybody.

I have a little problem.

I'm wondering if you could help me to find a dog bone. I can't seem to find it. The RC Car is probably from mid 80's (MRC Rabbit).
Similaire to this:

I have lost one of them in a big field when the suspension decided to loosen.
Picture of the one I still have.

SPECS:
Total length: 63mm
Pin to pin length c/c: 57mm
Pin diameter: 3mm
Pin length: 8,7mm
Ball diameter: 7mm

(c/c = Center to Center)

Is this something that you have or know where I could find?
Or is there someone that could construct them for me in hardened steel?
I would like to have a couple of them.

Or do you have some other solution to my problem? I would like to be able to use my car again. It's lot of fun!

Regards
Andy - Sweden

That's very close to a Kyosho Optima dogbone, those are just a bit longer...62.5mm pin-to-pin. You could cut one and sleeve it, then JB Weld both cut ends into the sleeve...should work fine for a runner, and Optima dogbones are easy to find.

1/8 dogbone if I´m not mistaken.

This makes the optima dogbone uninteresting as replacement. If You give me a couple of days, I might be able to find something suitable in my mess

True, if that's 1/8-scale, Optima 'bones wouldn't be strong enough...

Thanks. I am checking with a couple of them right now to see if this would fit. I'll be back.
