22-4 broken rear stub axles

At my track it's like the good old days .. All ae and losi. I have broke 2 rear axles where the threads are on the rear universals. BIG BUMMER. 3 racers broke the same thing Saturday.

The fix is to use 22 cvd a with 22hub carrier. I'm just disappointed tlr has not addressed these flawed parts on a otherwise fabulous car.

I know horizon would replace the part, those two dnf were

xxx,lunchbox,blackfoot,t4,2 rc10ce's,rc10 graphite,rc10 worlds car,2 rc10 t's,xx4---GONE:mip4wdrc10,rpm worlds,houge rc10,super clod,sand scorcher,f103,frog,xxxt,b2,b3,tc3,jrx2,fox,yr4-m2 usa,yz-10 many more LOL

Take the set screw out of front bulkhead. Cars tough. I like b44.2 but it breaks more arms

It dawned upon me not long ago that rear hubs are the same as front bearing T4/SC10 hubs. So you can use any 3/16 rear stub axle (CVD or Bone stub axle) to convert to front hex. Just hack off the bone cup or ball joint.

You can finally use those...

With the dogbone cup removed, it would basically look like a 3/16 version of a Traxxas axle. FWIW, Traxxas vehicles don't use crush tubes on the axles. You just can't run the endplay as tight. Also, the bearings on a Traxxas (5X11X4) are much more...

I understand that at some stage the thread size changed on the stub axles on early gold tubs. Can anybody tell me what the difference sizes were?

or if you want to use metric bearrings you can try THESE as well..

You'll need the original knuckles for both though

I got these weird things for a project and when I got them, I see one end has a larger ball end than the other and consequently won't fit in the stub axle or trans output drive. They are supposed to be for an rc10, anyone know the origin of these...

The rear stub axle broke on my 35 year old rc10. Googling doesn't seem to turn up anyway of getting hold of a replacement. Any pointers on where I could find one please?

Can the B4 rear axles (I know the cvd bones are too long with the rc10 a arm) be used in an earlier hub carrier (GT to be exact) if you use the #9608 wheel spacers? or is the axle still too long? I have an oddball idea that I will share when the...
