Stodd16 woin build

Post by Stodd16 »

My gold pan showed up from the mail man today so wanted to start getting some things together . I think I have everything but having one heck of a time finding a white stealth transmission. I'll get some Picts up of the pan and parts as it comes together. I went with a set of Klein arms so having a blast just looking at this forum and figuring out what works with what parts. If anyone can point me in a direction of a trans that would be great I have been searching eBay the past week and haven't really came across anything.

Here is the box of parts I found that inspired this build

Usually there are about 4-5 on epay at a time. With the re-re there may be some hording going on, but that'll pass.

If I were you I'd just save a few more pennies and just buy one more beater roller car (that has a stealth - and some other stuff you may be able to use). If you ultimately sell off whatever you have left when the woin is done, that'll be more cost effective than buying stuff off of a guy's granite counter top.

Good luck and just beware of the addiction.

Haha thanks I have never lost the addiction just the vintage stuff for some reason really tripped my trigger. I had converted my car to a ds 10 years 15 years back and traded it away well a few months ago I was in my parents basement and found the leftover rc10 gold parts.

those end up going in the 40-50 range regularly, I would suggest keeping your eyes peeled for a champ/team car/10t roller in rough shape for about that price. Even if you sell off the rest of the bits you will save money

I will need a truck nose and parts so may make a lot more sense to buy a full truck. This will be a racer so parts don't have to be perfect but want it to look sharp running next to the b4s and tlr stuff out there

Well ran the ebay bid up for that truck for up over 70. I thought that should have bought it but if I'm guessing to low please let me know. I'm not trying to be cheap but I don't want to overspend by a ton either

When you look at something like that look at it as a sum of it's parts to determine if it's too expensive, not to mention one with white parts will tend to be more. But I would probably have stopped around where you did, it does have a fair bit of bastardization.

Got out the simple green and a tooth brush and cleaned it up a bit. I think I'm going to try the peroxide trick on them to brighten them up a bit but I'm pretty happy with how white they got with just a brush
