First try with liquid mask...

Post by markbt73 »

...and I think there's something "fishy" going on. I don't know what, but it just looks a little... funny.

But seriously, folks: When they tell you to use a sharp knife, they mean a SHAAARP knife. Don't think, "Oh, this one has only been used a couple times on styrene; it's good enough." Nope. Get a new one.

But for my old favorite CE runner, it will do fine.

Some questions from a beginner:
- is it the Parma liquid mask ?
- is it easy to apply ?

Yes, it's the Parma liquid mask. I applied 2 coats with a brush, and it went on nicely, but took AGES to dry. Like, overnight for each coat. They say you can speed it up with a hair dryer, but I didn't this time. Probably will next time. Aside from that, it was easy to work with. Cut clean (once I got a fresh blade), and peeled off relatively easily.

i use to use liquid mask in the past and applied it in 3 heavy coats useing a hair drier between coats .. if you dont apply enough it will be hard to remove so the more the better

a good knife to use is a break blade knife for long strait lines

or a good Swivel Knive for cutting curves

In all seriousness looks good for a first try, I haven't used the stuff in ages and I wasn't even very good at it back then!
