The wheel options for 12th scale two bolt hubs

Post by drbelleville »

Since this question comes up a a few times, I think a thread would be in order. If anyone has any input or common knowledge please share, so that the persons needing help have a reference.

If you have or want to run a two bolt hub setup on your 12th scale vintage car, and you do not know what wheels work, or what to search for.

Here is a start, try these options:

-Original RC12 series wheels (Pre RC12L3)

-RC12LC White Dish Wheels

-TRC White 8 spoke wheels (similar to the Assocated items)

-TRC Black "ZR1" wheels

-TRC Flourescent Yellow wheels - these have six holes and as such can be run on 2 and 3 bolt hubs.

-Jaco (Black colored) wheels - NOTE the Gray and White colored wheels are 3 bolt !

-Johns BSR Dish wheels (not the new version) these had four holes in them so you could run 2 or 3 bolt hubs

-RC4Less Orange wheels - these have six holes and as such can be run on 2 and 3 bolt hubs

Hope it helps,
-Maurice

HPI had 1/12 Super Star Wheels in black. Part numbers are 2600 for the front and 2610 for the rear. 2 bolt rears.

The car in the upper left corner has them:

Sorry if you already answered this somewhere else Kent, but exactly what dye did you use to get that shade of flo yellow on those parts? Looks killer. 8)

I remember when you would risk a DQ if you did not have a wheel dot.

That's Flo Yellow liquid dye, thought it was made by Rit. Not sure if they still sell it.
