just finished a rebuild from a bunch of parts

Post by cguit »

I followed the original instructions and put together a complete rc10 gold pan. All the parts were there and i assembled as instructed. The car goes, but only sort of. If i give it full power it sort of sits there, starts to get going, and slowly increases speed. Any idea what would be causing this?

Are you using new original parts such as a mechanical speed controller?

im using an electronic speed control, an old traxxas one, actually it was in it when i found it :) Original futaba reciver and handle and a new servo. The car itself is pretty much original. Including the gear box

Hung motor brush, bad solder joint, bad ESC incorrect radio settings etc- Pics of the parts might help

Motor works find, big gear goes around fine, wheels spin fast when off the ground. On the ground it just doesnt take off even though the gear is spinning.

the original one that came with it. Its all original parts. Exactly like in the manual. Big white gear with little bearings balls on it and 2 metal plates with a spring and a nut.

That is not a "slipper". It is the differential for the car. It sounds like it is too loose. Tighten it more. Pics may be of use as well. Other things to check are the tires (are they tight on the rims), and are the rims engaged on the axle pins? -Jeff

i just got a new redcat caldera too, we were tessting the cars out on the street and my friend ran the rc10 directly into the caldera, i guess he didnt really have an idea of how fas brushless really is. He broke the caldera body and the arm of the rc10. For an old rc car it sure worked well :) I paid 20.00 for a milk carton with plastic bodies and a big bag of parts, the rc10 came from that.
