With a rad2 or TRX1/3 transmission, bandit vxl slipper and steel-ring geardiff
Yup, I can see it already speeding down the road

nope going stock , guy i know did it with his sledge running a 3300kv 540 w/ 3s so i think the tranny can take a brushed 13x2 with 8 cell nicad

well started in on the break down, the drivetrain is almost perfect
all the hinge pins in back were perfect, so far the only real issue is a bit of rust on the e-clips, the top gear's pin and a few other bits of hardwear
anyway here are pics... and a new thing im just trying out, little video clip run through of the diff assembly
just trying it out ya know

forgot to mention, a guy at the track hooked me up with his old sanyo cells after i was talking to him about the project on our clubs forum

Re: Resto-Mod: 50 cal. rocket (trx10)
well got the whole thing broken down and figgured out all the parts i need to replace/fix its not a long list thankfuly
like ive said before, ive got almost all the parts except the tower and shaft but im hoping they unbend nicely. theres also a few of the trx fiberlite chassis on ultimaheaven's ebay store so i may replace the towers and lower chassis with fiberlite parts... maybe
im also playing with the idea of trying to de-anodise the aluminum since the lower chassis plate's anodizing isnt looking to good.
anyway here are pics
parts im not using for the project
- front shock shaft (needs unbending or replacement)
2 ball ends
ball screw
bumper
front shock tower*
2-3 e-clips
long arse screw and corresponding flanged nut
steering servo mount
rear springs

Re: Resto-Mod: 50 cal. rocket (trx10)
got done cleaning the plastic parts, for now im not going to run everything in peroxide, next time i break it down i will
got the whole tranny assembly finished and motor mounted, the motor tabs need to be cleaned up, as you can see in the video below there is a lot there and its causing resistance
pics:
aparently the bullet has already gotten its share of heat

ive found that with exception to the sledge i really dont like the 2 gear chassis's as much as the later stealth/3 gear style tranny cars
