WOW Mike I love this project. Love the black PC parts and the body looks really cool. Keep the pics coming and make sure to take some action shock in the sand.
It makes me want to get one and throw a load of cash at it .
Great work as usual.

Re: Buggy Champ Build...
well got the RCChannel Kit yesterday (i love EMS mail), mounted it up, no real problems... I had to take about a 1/3" off the slipper to clear the Arm mount (cut spring, nut and threads), but slipper still works great short and has perfect clearance..
Just a bit about the RCChannel stuff, his quality is amazing.. Everything on this kit fits to within a millimeter when all mounted, its beautiful, he put a ton of work in to it... Its not the strongest of metal that the parts are made with, BUT its the same if not better as tamiya stuff. Its WELL Worth the money... i got his hotshot kit a while ago too, amazing kit also... I feel like i should buy 5 of these kits and stash them away for 5 years in case he stops making them, they should go up in value.
Chrome Plated Plastic wheels came in from the Czech Republic, Amazing quality also, i tryed scratching some of the plating off on the excess mold peices that the wheels come on, and i have a REALLY hard time scratching that chrome off, its on really well, im impressed by the vacuum metallizing done to it. Went with the scorcher tires too so i can run it on the beach, and i always like paddles
All thats left is i make myself a "gear cover cap" to protect the excess slipper and also to mount the rear shocks (going to drill a hole in body, and either Tap a hole in the roll bar above the normal location, OR weld a small aluminum bar thats tapped to screw in... gotta see how it will look later tonight
The Kit is actually completely ready to run at this point... Motor is kinda slow, i used a Tamiya RS540 Sport Tuned Motor , but it works and is fast enough for now...

Mike, I love the black and white tuxedo! Maybe some options here? http://www.mcmaster.com/#push-in-plugs/=76jmt4
Is the plastic on that little protrusion on the new covers thick enough to tap of die threads into it? I'm going to go ahead and DF03 my old hot rodded super champ I think.

Anyone ever try any different steering options? the stock steering has SUCH slop in it.. i was going to maybe take out the ring and glue it all in 1 peice and use a kimbrough servo saver.. or try a different arm all together or something.. the wheels once turned dont seem to like to go straight again lol

The superchamp servo saver is much better than the RR/SS one.mikedealer wrote:Anyone ever try any different steering options? the stock steering has SUCH slop in it..

Re: Buggy Champ Build...
you got what you need and the arm will flip. I recomend some dubro ball ends and 4/40 rod.

Mike, I love your car! I wish i had the coin to go buy a set of the wheels and the upgrade suspension from RC Channel. The car must handle much better off road than stock, so I can understand you wanting something faster than a black can sport tuned motor!

Re: Buggy Champ Build...
Mike, your Buggy Champ is beauuuuuuuuuuuuuutiful... It does look too nice to run. But then again, after spending so much $$$ and labor into it, it'd be a crime NOT to run it!
I would love to see some videos of it if you can shoot some of it and throw it up on Youtube...

Re: Buggy Champ Build...
What kind of shocks are you running? How do you like them? Did you get your new steering setup together yet?
Looking good!

Re: Buggy Champ Build...
I got the shocks from rc4wd.com. Think they were 80mm. They run nice. The rears I took out the internal spring and used stock torsion bar spring thing. And fronts I'm running the internal shock spring. Works nice and smooth
Super champ steering came together great too but never posted more info I guess lol. Gonna update soon with new pics of final runner car here
