Yup, and they make a 20deg and 30 deg, or you can figure a -5 and a +5 for castor

BTW Jeff, PM coming on the other parts soon

None of our tracks here have hobby shops trackside. Maybe they think it adds to the racing, or maybe that's what today's breed of racer thinks a track needs. To me, the perfect track flows smoothly and requires turn marshall input ONLY when a driver hits something. The car should NEVER flip or change it's attitude to the point of losing control as a result of the surface, ruts or jumps. Of course I'm still kinda new to this sport so what do I know :)

A good track will create great racing. It will make drivers better since they will have closer battles and will allow for a safer environment for the turn marshalls and spectators. The track you see in the videos has already resulted in spectator injury. That jump you see in the back section was the cause of a very large welt on a spectators head, courtesy of my B4. After coming off the double just before the huge table top the car got a little out of shape and hit the table top slightly off balance. The result was a B4 with an 8.5 brushless running at full speed leaving the track area, flying at about 30mph and striking a guy in the forehead just above his left eye. He was nearly knocked out by the impact. Sadly, that was the second time he had been hit by a car flying off the track.

When a race is determined, or even influenced by the way a car lands from a freakish jump, it does nothing for the skill of the racers.

We still have smooth flowing tracks here, but the big air jumps are starting to appear
My local track only has one big hill like jump

There are a few 1/8th nitro buggy's and trucks on our 1/10th track
and they want bigger jumps ! ! ! !
But our track is only for ELECTRIC = NO NITRO NOISE

So they can keep there big air jumps on the 1/8th track

Video was awesome and that table top really don't belong on that track (My 2 cents)

One thing that wasn't mentioned... A track with a good layout should be able to be run in both clockwise and counter clockwise direction.

Couple years ago I went to my local track to watch and was amazed at the size of one of the jumps on the track. Are we suppose to be racing or flying our cars??

As always great videos!

Here's some video from today's racing. It was a light crowd and the racing wasn't too spectacular, but it was racing nonetheless. The biggest issue was trying not to collapse from heat stroke. Inside the building was like being in an oven!

A few posts ago the topic of caster was mentioned. I tried my car with 20 degree blocks (B4). It steered more, but was inconsistent so I swapped back to the 25 degree blocks. (B4)

Boy was it hot!!!
I was planning on running the gold runner since I spent a lot of time setting it up since the last time racing, but during my one and only practice (got their late due to a small migraine) the ESC had a melt down, not sure why as it is the 1st speed control I have ever burned up. Might have been due to the intense heat, or that I ran a long practice (LIPO), and I'm still using old esc's with brushed motors. I just finished throwing another Novak HPC in it.
So I had to resort to using my backup car ('93 IFMAR Worlds car again).
We were especially sweating buckets while on the driver's stand, one guy had a puddle next to him of sweat during each round.
Overall, the wife and I had a great time today, except for the heat!

That's the link to the main event from the vintage shootout held here in Florida on June 26, 2010. There were 8 RC10's running. Of those, I built 5 and painted 5, but one car had a custom body and one of my bodies was loaned to someone in need. It was kinda cool to see so much of the stuff with my fingerprints all over it on the track. In the end, My oldest finished 1st, Zack Genova finished 2nd with a car I built for him, my middle son finished 3rd and Ruffy and I finished 4th and 5th. Not sure which was 4th and which was 5th.

I just uploaded the video again and the audio works this time. The correct link has been added to this post.

No audio yet but the racing is good. Very cool stuff, it has to be very cool that you put together most of the cars.
Thanks for the vid Jeff.
