MIP MB2000 bones in LXT

Post by Toyotachris1982 »

Curious if the bones from this kit will fit a LXT with a retrofit transmission. Cups of course are for the LRM. Any help is appreciated

Not sure about the retrofit transmission, I can tell you that the CVD bone is 71.5mm center of pin to center of pin.
Consistency is the key I keep misplacing.

Yes they do, the MIP dog bone kit is made to fit the xx gearbox retrofit. MIP machined the outdrives in the dog bone kit to have the same measurement as the XX outdrives. The CVDs fit alittle bit longer since theres more mass at the hubs.

Fairly certain the XX retrofit uses longer bones as they have a different set for the XX retrofit. look to be 9mm longer if I go by this guys measurement https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-mip-1041-cvd-bone-team-losi-3786567619

I did say it was alittle longer btw but Toyotachris1982 wanted to know if the MIP dogbone kit (not CVD) would fit the retro kit and they do. The guys at my old racetrack had the xx retro kit and cvds on their LXT and they fine.

MB2000 is a CVD kit not a "bone" kit.

A "MB2000" is for the universal joint kit and yes they fit the retro fit kit just fine.

Oops you're right, guess I was wrong on the part number.
