So, what did you do RC today?

When it's R/C related, but doesn't fit anyplace else.

Did you have to trim the back of the fronts?

The fronts that he made me hit the hinge pins before full lock. I'm thinking of getting a router attachment for my Dremel and using a 1/8" end mill bit.
No sir, mine does clear at full lock. Makes me wonder if there's something slightly different between our trucks. Mine is 100% stone stock to a T, at the moment.

Got a picture? It's the same model used for both your sets. I wonder if I missed adding a chamfer from the originals.

My steering is slightly different. I used the Tamiya high torque servo saver and the steering blocks are inverted. So its possible that I have a little more steering travel.

I did however notice that these would fit my Hornet, as it doesn't have hinge pins at all.

Thanks for the pictures. I'll make you a set with clearance. The OEM wheel was the same in that area so there definitely is a difference in your steering setup.

Waiting on some parts for a couple of builds, but some much needed 5-40 hardware came in for my Viper EX-10, so I got to work on getting everything cleaned up in prep of building. Supposed to rain all day Sunday, so that should be the day. :D

Made a couple rc videos. Ordered some add-ons for my turtle labs workstation. Ordered YET another Durango I didn't need (but it's one i didn't have). Sorted some of my bulk hardware to make it easier to find and keep track of.

Rainy day screwing off.

Swapped some wheels and tires around on the hopper.

Frankentruck printed FXT wheels with Blitzer rear tires and LRP fronts.

I've got a couple sets of white Stadium Blitzer wheels as well, might see how they look.

Great rainy Sunday of avoiding all adult responsibilities! :D

The Pro-2 is complete. Fill the shocks and she will be out bashing this week.

Then got a good chunk of the Viper done. The pmg rear wheels don't fit onto the hub of my truer like every other rear pan car wheel ever made (the four mounting holes are also not drilled correctly), so I have to jerry-rig something there, which is why the tires didn't get done today. Chassis is done though, and even started cleaning up and placing some electronics.

I got a little work done on what I am calling "oval car." Outside of it turning mostly left on a relatively flat track, that is it's only ultimate plan so far. I am trying to mostly work with spare RC10 parts, DR10 kit parts, and a few store bought Traxxas parts. I am kinda shocked the front worked out as well as it did, although there is nothing revolutionary there. The rear is an open book at this point.

I came in to the office early and rebuilt my Bosscat's front shocks at my desk.

I had been told that a modern big bore shock rod would fit the Schumacher "Vari-shock", and they do, but it is just a touch larger in diameter. The difference is miniscule and they did seem to work fine. I didn't like the gold color, so when I found the proper rods, I swapped them over. The pistons (I have Muzzoom, not the vari-shock ones) fit the modern rod noticeably tighter than they do the correct rod, again pointing to a tiny difference in diameter. I am guessing that the difference is down to the old one being machined to a fraction of an inch and the new one being mm. The difference is probably in the 0.01 inch range. Also, the groove spacing is correct so the e-clips above and below the piston fit perfectly well.

Anyway, the good news is that they do work in a pinch if you can't find the proper vintage rod, so there is an option. I happen to need a set of 4 long rods for a Storm 2000, and, had I not found the proper ones, would have used the Schumacher big bore rods.

More useless information: be careful which Schuey rod you order. At some point they switched from using e-clips to fit the pistons and used a washer and screw arrangement. My KF2 has the old style. The L1s, LDs, and Storm STs use the screw down style; not sure about KC, KD. Either will work, but I prefer the older style because it is a direct swap vs having to source screws and washers.
