Micro Speed Controllers

Post by HS-YZ250 »

Is anyone familiar with electronics for Micro type RC's that run small brushed motors like this?

I have a toy drift car (on-off power, on-off steering) a good friend got me years ago that I'm looking to make controllable with my Spektrum transmitter. It's powered with a motor like this. I want to add a micro servo, surface receiver, and was looking at this controller.

What I'm trying to figure out is if this is a standalone ESC that is intended to be plugged into a receiver, or if the receiver is integrated into the same board and meant to work with one of their transmitters, which I think is how this kit works:

Hoping I can keep this project around $30, which rules out Kyosho Mini-Z stuff.

It appears to be.

As delivered, the esc supplies the servo power and just the signal comes from the receiver. He mentioned that the servo is low voltage.

I don't see why a normal micro servo couldn't be used, hooked to the receiver.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

Good find! I kept trying to find a website for Orlandoo to get a better diagram, but wasn't having any luck.
