I've tried numerous "O" rings when rebuilding my original gold shocks; Traxxas, Yokomo and some other brands which I've forgotten. All I get is stiction.
Do the 5407 "O" rings work with the original shocks?

Re: "O" Rings
All of those o-rings should work. Do the plastic parts slide smoothly over the shock shafts? Are the shocks worn inside and causing wobble?Dirtburner wrote: ↑Fri Sep 16, 2022 11:38 pm I've tried numerous "O" rings when rebuilding my original gold shocks; Traxxas, Yokomo and some other brands which I've forgotten. Re: "O" Rings
Common 006 silicone o rings fit fine, same as nearly everyone uses.
The problem with bottom load shocks is keeping everything aligned. They take some fiddling around to get smooth operation.
I ream and deburr all the plastic pieces. Loosely assemble everything with o ring grease. Then I grease and install the shock shaft, before compressing the o ring package and installing the clip.
Truthfully, I hate dealing with AE bottom load shocks. I only use them when I have no other option.

Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.
