My 2nd stock Clod

Post by charlie »

Hello,

i`m on the way to finish my 2nd stock Clod.

It has a Hobbywing ESC, 2 HPI Firebolt Motors, a Chassisextensionbracket, a Carolina Crusher Body, Aluminium antirotation Brackets, and 2 Servomounts designed by a Tamiyaclub Member.

I have to install some Shocks and have following options:

Cheap 120mm Aluminium Shocks (they are a bit leaky)
Tamiya Agrios 90mm CVAs with extensions (the shocks are super, but i do not like the liftplates. Longer eyelets would be great, but i do not know where i can get some fitting Eyelets.)
120 or 110 mm Inner Spring Shocks from "Mountain" (they lookg great, the people say they do not leak, but maybe they are a bit stiff....) They come in yellow, "gold/orange", black, grey, or red.... I do not know what color would suit the Carolina Crusher.

Also i have to build some Satbilizers for the Crusher

Thanks, i aprechiate it.

I wanted to keep it as Stock as possible.

The hardest Part is to get affordable 110mm oilshocks.
I have Agrios schocks, they are 90mm eye to eye, but i want 110 or 120mm shocks.

Tamiya CVAs are my Favoriten, they Just Work.

Inteenal spring shocks would bei awesome, but theap ones leak, the good ones are to expensive....

Love the old school look! I'm thinking my next clod build will also be an old school truck...

Today i testdrove my Carolina Cruscher the first time.

I really like the Speed with those 2 firebolt Motors and the 7 Cell NiMh Pack.

When i hitted the throttle it felt like i had installed a loose slipper in the Transmission, so i need to attach the tires to the rims anyhow.

I never glued my tires in any of my RCs....

Is there any compund that could be removed at any time?

I know people use rubber Bands, but the Rubberbands that are sold here turn in to a gooie mess or into dust after one year.... Is there a glue that is removable?

I would like that sticky firm rubbery glue that you find in Magazines when they attach some Beautylotion for women or Toys for children (not vice versa :D ).

PS:

The Truck is pulling hard to the left after about 5 Meters in full throttle. Could this be an effect from unglued tires?
(one side gripping more than the other?)

Maybe rubber cement? Put it on the rims let it dry then put the tires on.

You could try hot glue , I think that's what they use to stick free stuff to magazines.
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

I use to work in magazine manufacturing, hot glue was to brital. It's easy to break when stressed. We used a rubbery type of glue to glue on sticker packs. Unfortunately I have no idea what it was since it was like 11 years ago.

I've slways used ca glue. Recently I used some cheap supper glue and noticed it actually broke off, maybe it was because I fidnt rough up the wheel before gluing...
