Forgive me if this question has been asked to death, I'm kind of a newbie again! Lol. I am looking at building another Clod (I know, wrong crowd lol) and I am not a fan of my options... I am a cantilever and non crawler guy and was wondering if one of those $200-$300 cnc routers could be used to cut out carbon fiber parts? I'm not looking to sell anything, just play around with my clod and other rcs.
Any one have any experience with these and carbon fiber? I see some can work "soft" aluminum too.
My $800 cheapie Chinese 3040t got me started but those little ones with a 540 motor aren’t going to be very accurate and with carbon it’s tough enough as it is.
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas Factory Works website
I need a part made. It's small, about 1 high and wide and made out of about 1/8 thick aluminum. Does anyone know of a shop I could send a sample of what I need to have a piece made? I only need the one piece, this would be a small part and a smaller...

I was going to recommend bigjeepzz, he does great work. Seems you already got a hold of him.
I'm alway in doubt wether I shoud use my RC10s in bad conditions (dirt, mud, snow, skatepark...). It would be a lot of fun, but it would also be a shame to destroy original parts. So I bought a CNC Machine and I will build...

This is how it looks now. I made the parts whick connect the nose brace upper deck to the noseplate and the upper deck to the rear bulkhead.
As you can see it is getting serious here. Or series? If i have the machine ready I always make two,...
Hey guys screwing around Craigslist, I found this benchtop CNC for cheap. Went to look at it and did some research, not a bad small machine. The mill had a broken brace which supported the motor that can be easily fixed.
The main issue with the...

Lookin Good Jake!!!! since I have no Idea of half of what you'all are talkin about   ...Johnny
I have had a shapeoko 3 cnc machine for a couple of years. I basically taught myself a second trade because my daily full-time job is back-breaking, and I don't want to do that forever. I always wanted to make my own r/c parts. I started out cutting...

Unfinished nose tubes and mount are on. The tubes look way up there to me. I will have to take some bend out of the nose plate to drop them a little lower.

I am a college employee in NC and we get to take 1 free class a semester. The Dean of engineering thinks I can take the CNC class without the prereqs because of my years with Caterpillar as long as I do it as an audit and not for credit. I am...

Thanks guys for the info. I have a lot to consider before I buy a machine. Hopefully the cnc class this summer will answer a lot of them, particularly do I need a cnc machine. Well I don't need one but I want one. I may find I don't want one after...
Ok so i have been considering buying a CNC Mill for a wile now, Nothing huge but id like to have a working area of about 10 X 20 , I have been looking at some mills in the 8K - 10K range. That price range will have to include some tooling to get me...

nvxwax - i saw this hobby grade machine, going to check it out, I might be going towards the direction of a real entry level machine to start out and play around with before spending serious cash.
I'm sure this may have come up in the past, but haven't been able to find what I am after through the ol' search function.
I have drawn up a couple of different versions of chassis' for my slim RB5 (one is mid motor, one is rear motor w/saddle...

this would be a great service, as I, along with quite a few others on this board have some little custom parts that would love to get made up :)
