Hello friends of the RC10
I'm alway in doubt wether I shoud use my RC10s in bad conditions (dirt, mud, snow, skatepark...). It would be a lot of fun, but it would also be a shame to destroy original parts. So I bought a CNC Machine and I will build some "Basher-RC10"s for my Hobbyroom. Biggest compromise: the chassis. Bending this "pan" is very difficult, so I designed a flat chassis with upper deck. First tries made out of some old aluminium, later maybe anidized, and I will make some of carbon.
Noseplate is milled and then bent. Not so easy ti find the right place to bend it, but the next one will be better. I make cuts, 0.5mm deep with a ball end mill to define the place where it bends.

Wish I had a CNC mill to play with , great project
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.
A problem shared is a problem halved but an advantage shared is no advantage at all.

Yes of course, with some kind of small upper deck. Just have to draw and mill it.

Still some work to do. Sand the edges, brush, anodize. And don't laugh at the VCFS ("various chassis flex system TM"), also called "cable ties" , which fix the nose brace upper deck to the nose plate. They will be replaced by screwed parts.

This is how it looks now. I made the parts whick connect the nose brace upper deck to the noseplate and the upper deck to the rear bulkhead.
As you can see it is getting serious here. Or series? If i have the machine ready I always make two, three or four, when the machine is ready it is done quickly.
I'm happy with the form of the parts, how they fit together. But as you can see, the surface is away from perfection. In Polyamide you need very very sharp tools and it is not easy to adjust spindle rpm an feed rate to get a smooth surface without burrs. But it's OK, I'm learning...
Stiffness of the chassis assembly completed is very similar to the tube version, so I hope it will handle well on the track.
And I made a new steering bellcrank with an aluminium rack.
