just purchased one of my bucket list items a jrxt. Other than the original tires (front a-7500 and a-7600) are there any other tires that are valued amongst collectors?

Curious about this as well... just ordered a JRXT that is in decent shape but not great, so I'm planning a runner. What are folks using for wheels/tires if not the originals? I see some hex conversion kits available out there, but it seems only for the rears.

The tires are easy.. any 2.2” truck tire will work and there’s a bunch out there. The wheels are getting hard to find though. I stick with vintage, so not sure what hex & modern solutions are out there.

I have a JRXT with the extra wide RPM h-arms on the rear. I want to put CVD dogbones on it. Will the dogbones from the LXT work on it?

I have the LRM trans with some MIP outdrives. I have the whole MIP kit but it's for the stock 5 link and it won't reach. lol Can you post a pic of your spacer....I didn't even think of that.

I'm wondering what the differences between these two vehicles were.

Here's what I think are the differences, can anyone tell me if I missed any

1. Tires (still going to state the obvious ones)
2. Chassis (the XT seems like it shared a chassis...

The rear springs are different...xt used the black progressive springs while the x2 used the standard. The bellcranks were also different...xt used the white heavy duty (for the truck tires) while the x2 used the standard black.

Just wondered if the JRXT like the one below is has the LWB chassis? (A la Proformance JRX2 kit & the Pro)

Or is it short wheel base but with different shaped sides?? :?:

Does anyone still make 2.2 aggressive knobby ST tires? I'm looking for something similar to the old Tracktagators, I'm not having any luck finding any descant big knobby tires.

I know that Pavidis used Pro-line Square Fuzzies on his YZ-10 to win the 95' Worlds. He cut a set of rears down to fit the narrower front wheel. Question: Did Pro-line make a Square Fuzzie front 4wd tire after this? Also, what other tire would be...

For display car/trucks, will the tire's stay soft and new for long periods of time in the open, or should these vintage rubbers be put away in a sealed bag.

My 2 cents.

Tires in cool dry climates will last much longer than tires in hot climates. I would never store tires in the attic or hot upstairs cupboards.

It is also a good idea to condition them from time to time.

If it helps any I used acetone (fumes, not dipped) to clean some Imex tires from a blackfoot. (no, the abs rims did not survive!) They did seem to swell as the fumes got to the rubber to the point where they didn't fit the rims all that well, but...
