Lunsford Punisher Turnbuckles RC10T

Post by Rscot808 »

Just picked up an RC10T that I’ll be rebuilding and hopefully documenting on this sight.
I’m looking for Lunsford Punisher Turnbuckles / tie rods. I wasn’t able to find a kit for the RC10T. Anyone know how to piece one togeather? I see T4 ones but read they are too long. Thanks!

Just call Barb at Lunsford, they have the old style and the punishers both.

I think the 10T and T2 use the same 6 x 2.62" turnbuckles
I was old school - when old school wasn't cool !

From what I've seen, those really only work right with the small AE ball cups. At least, the AE turnbuckles don't have enough thread to allow decent adjustment with larger ball cups.

I just did a 10T with 6 x 62mm turnbuckles and RPM standard ball cups. I have another with 50mm turnbuckles, with one standard and one long RPM ball cup.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

I would want to use standard size RPM ball cups as that’s what I ran back in the day. Most likely will be a shelfer so don’t need a ton of adjustability just to look right.

In performance on the track the Lunsford are probably no different at all but they are made from grade 5 ti, made in the USA, as well as lifetime guaranteed. Can you tell by driving the car they are better? No. But they are, at least IMO, much better.

Thanks. Those are solid reasons. The price I found vanished so currently the lunsford parts are also the cheapest parts for upgraded turnbuckles.

Make sure to try direct, by calling or emailing. You might find better pricing that what you see advertised. Not sure if they have fixed map pricing or not.

Thanks for the tip. The sets of pins are quite competitive in price, but I’ll need a discount on some loose pins since there is no rc 10t set.
