But at $50+ plus shipping for a pair of 38mm fronts...ouch! They're not blue either. :(

Did Kyosho Option House ever manufacture blue shocks? I don't think so...but I heard a rumor. Just wondering if anybody can confirm/deny it. :)

You're talking about those silk-coated ones? I believe I've seen those in blue...

You're talking about the Kyosho Velvet Shocks. They are AWESOME but only the trim parts are blue. The actual shock body is a brass type color.

Sorry to dig this back up but...

Did Kyosho at one time change the gold in their gold shocks? I have a set of Kyosho golds that are a considerably lighter shade of gold than Duratrax shocks. I've seen people post comparisons where they are both the same color but mine are olbviously different. Could they fade?

And I've heard people call them Duraleaks before but I've had a few sets for over 15 years and have never had a leaky one. One complaint, they do have collars made of weak plastic though and almost all of mine have broke.

I think they fade. Color is not a good way of determining if you have a Kyosho or a Duratrax shock. I think the anodizing varies just like it does with a gold chassis RC10 also.

but not budget at all ;)

I've used the silver versions of the yeah racing ones - amongst the worst shocks I've ever built, I ended up running them dry as they leak, stick, block, and the bladder breaks down. Highly not recommended...

I've used some nice topcad onroad shocks a couple of years back, about $10 a pair, very very very good value for money. No idea whether they have dimennsions that fit your ride.

I think Duratrax might have changed their color actually. I've seen some duratrax that were lighter, like kyosho and yes, what others have said about fading a little.
