For your viewing pleasure,, these are just a couple prototype parts, the bearing adapters will be stainless, I just did a couple in aluminum for a quick trial fitment. Hopefully I'll be able to get it all sorted later next week when I get back from a bussiness trip and I'll be able to post some pics of the finished product with the CVD bones installed.

(for the record, that is an optima front hub, they match up almost Identical with the Yoke part, a little bit better acctually for what I'm doing. I'm still using Yoke hubs in the rear, but I had a "mishap" with one of the Yoke fronts, so those are going to be kyosho parts now)

It really was pretty simple. My lathe, some material and a couple reams and off I went. I think every hobby enthusiast should get a small lathe, you'd be amazed at the stuff you can make with one! I've graduated to a large lathe in my garage, but those small 7x10 import machine are really not that bad, you can make endless custom rc stuff with them, and you can pick them up at various discount tool places for about 450 bucks. Here's a good reference page for them if anyone's interested, lots of reviews, tips, modifications, etc.

Are you gonna use stock dogbones or kyosho ones?

Actually neither, I'm using B4 CVD bones, they come out about .045" shorter than the Yoke bones, but the stock Yoke bones have a ton of plunge into the outdrive so I think I'll be fine, but I am going to put aluminum collars on the outdrives to prevent any spreading.

Oh, sorry I remember you told that before.
You must have taken the CVD's apart to make those picture of the front: I couldn't see the actual axle running to the diffs and just jumped to the conclusion you were using standard cup outdrives at the wheel end.

Yeah, if you look closely you can see the CV end on the axle, but I haven't assembled them yet. Pretty good deal though, I the chrome CVD sets on ebay for 20.95 each. The only modification needed for the bones is to open up the slots on the diff outdrives a few thousandths of an inch, nothing fancy just a nice steady dremel hand (nice and slow, measure, grind, measure, grind). I'm really excited to finish this project next week, it should look really nice. I got a bunch of hardware from Yokomo USA as well as a new plastic caps for the motor mount and front and rear diffs, as well as a brand new chassis (thanks shodog) and brand new black andy's arms front and rear (thanks didiou)
