oldschool kyosho shock rebuilds?

heyas, what parts/tools do i need to rebuild some old kyosho gold shocks?

do they use the same size piston as ae?

nobody knows?

i tried to find something on kyoshos website, but it looks like its all new stuff.

just wanna rebuild some old gold kyosho shocks, any help would be appreciated.

i think these kits should work. i don't know what the part numbers are on the kyosho shocks, though. the kyosho pistons and shafts are a smaller diameter than ae.

the kit in the pic on that link only shows 4 red o-rings. it should be 8. might want to ask them about that. :wink:

I've been told on this site they're worthless before, but if it's for display only: the duratrax shocks look indistinguishable from the kyosho gold shocks. (Just going from the pics in the old tower hobbies ad)
May be worth considering: easily available still from TH and you'll get "NIB".

Or just use Asso's green slime on the O-rings and bladder caps :wink:
(Your original plan :using asso pistons, etc: won't work cause of the unit difference)

Duratrax gold shocks only have one o-ring seal while the Kyosho shocks have two. Otherwise, they're pretty much identical.
