When I was a kid, this is when I wanted to go toy shopping because some things would be marked down to a couple of bucks.

After Christmas clearances were wild back in the day. Stuff being sold for a fraction of sticker just to clear out the inventory. Then the Midnight Madness sales on New Years Eve where the closer to midnight it got the lower the prices got,...
My B2 buggy has some yellow 3 piece wheels that would be pretty cool if they weren't discolored in spots. Some of the places make me think it could be from rusty parts, but other places seem like they wouldn't be. Has anyone tried successfully to...

By chance, have you tried lighter fluid?
I use it to clean nylon spur gears. Removes the ground-in dirt and oil stains and makes them white again.
Might be worth a try.
So, I'm reading this article the other day about the future of R/C charging. A company was touting their technology which allowed over the air charging of cars while they were running, with a tagline like, Never charge your R/C car again! . And it...

I’ve been in for 25 years….im sure I don’t have the most time in. How long have the rest of you been in the RC hobby? Also, fun follow up…favorite RC? My favorite changes, but right now it’s the Losi Promoto. Tomorrow it will be different I’m sure.

Hey fellows! 8)
I've been pondering something lately and would love to get your thoughts: Do you think the classic designs of vintage race suits have influenced the gear we use in R/C racing today? I'm fascinated by how certain elements from...

I don't have an ultrasonic cleaner yet, but wanted to get this B3 buggy cleaned up. Yes I know it's missing 1 dog bone. Other than that, it's practically new. My kid would say it's lit and I'm cap. Thanks? 😁

4) Any way to keep vanilla white nylon from becoming yellow over time?
Thanks!
I really think the only way is to keep it from UV exposure and air contaminates (smoke/oils ). Then it's just a matter of careful disassembly,...
Alex kindly loaned me two of these to look at. I've always found them somewhat interesting as the set up is unusual and reminds me of early converted plane engines. The other engine he sent has a taller head with more fins and a slightly different...

Ive bought and sold quite a bit of stuff in my life, not just rc cars; Pocket bikes, gopeds, mountain bikes, cars.. man the list goes on. But yeah a few of them i wish i had kept. Maybe even some of the rc10s ive sold you guys. I wonder where my...

Same here. Really the only things of the R/C variety I regret selling are the items that are worth 10 times as much now so I can sell them again.
I have an RC10B2 (shelf display) that leave black tire marks everywhere. The pins on the tires are like pencils. These are the only tires that do this.
My preference is to keep the glued vintage tires on the rims. Is there a spray or sealant you...

Usually Golden Age means progress in technology and ideas. For the sake of future generations, what does the saying “Golden Age of RC” mean to you personally? Getting your thoughts around the nostalgia for 80s and 90s RC (assuming these are the...

I view the golden age as being when I was involved in the hobby from introduction until I left for military service.

The title pretty much says it all. Why did Kyosho's new Ultima dominate the '87 Worlds? Was Associated too overconfident or taken by surprise? Did the track suit the Ultima's design better? Was it all just down to tires? Any thoughts?
Last post
Thinking about Kyosho not putting enough R&D after the 87' win, maybe the effort was more towards the 1/8 car....look how many times they won that WC?
But what do I know
Not only 1/8, but many of their 4WD buggies were impressive.

Would 1/12 scale offroad racing ever attract interest?

Our local track saw an uptick in novice racers with the Losi Mini B/T2.0. These were kept as a controlled spec class, but many kids, including my own, soon moved up to 1/10 scale.

Yes sorry, my mistake. Unidirectional is often layed out in isotropic patterns for strength, as Phin said.
So one of the projects I have wanted to try is making a carbon fiber chassis. This will have 2 steps: making a mold then making the part.
I had in the past tried creating a 'buck' for molding. I simply lack the skill and workspace to make an...
