Re: So, what did you do RC today?

This will be of interest to almost no-one, but I bought a Hyper Go 14301 RC truck for my brother since he damaged his Marui Galaxy. I wanted him to have something modern and durable to bash around with. The frequent issue with these Chinese RC's, though they're actually quite well-built otherwise, i...

The Pegasus was available in Canada, so I imagine it was also available in USA.

Re: What was your first RC experience?

I had multiple toy-grade R/Cs, I would ask for one every Christmas. My story and fascination with RC is similar to yours. Growing up as a young teen in the early 80's, I always asked for remote control cars for Christmas and gifts. I remember the silly battery-operated tethered "remote control...

Re: Best Liquid Mask product?

I use a pancake compressor for my mini hvlp and have had zero problems with the liquid mask. You spray several light coats letting each coat dry between so it has no problem keeping up. You would definitely notice issues spraying 2K clear and an HVLP gun with a pancake compressor...but fortunately ...

Re: Best Liquid Mask product?

A few comments based on my own experiences, trial & error... -Don't buy an HVLP gun unless you have a hefty air compressor. Those guns need a LOT of air volume to atomize paint properly, and pancake compressors are far too weak. For better results, buy an LVLP gun, which are pretty similar excep...

I still haven't heard a peep from tower. Ugh. Tower had the JJ in stock for about a week. I waited and watched my order status. When they went out of stock, I contacted Tower. They said 'oops, our bad'. Weird. I just got an email notice sent by my nearby LHS that the JJ Ultima was available to orde...

Re: my RC tires leave black marks everywhere any solution?

Here's what I did to store my finished cars; cheap, looks great and keeps those tires off the ground...a bunch of dollar-store clear plastic containers, with strips of foam tape stuck on the tops. I second the suggestion to use 303 Aerospace Protectant on any plastic, vinyl and rubber. https://www.r...

Re: The "Golden Age of RC" meaning

I agree that it was the 80's, at least with regards to a big surge in mainstream popularity of RC cars. When the Grasshopper, Hornet and Frog came out from Tamiya, that caught the interest of many other manufacturers to motivate them to make relatively affordable kits. Marui, Hirobo, Kyosho, AYK, Ni...

Re: Your Favorite R/C Part

I bought a Lucas Arts Agitator on eBay that oddly came with a staggered pair of Sees wheels on the driver's side, but white plastic wheels on the passenger side. While these certainly aren't super rare, it was a time-consuming hassle to track down a full NIP set from a "friend of a friend of a ...

Doesn't posting pics of a Ninja seem ironic? I thought nobody would ever see a ninja... 8)

What, no love for their last car, the Shogun? :o It's pretty much the same chassis as the Ninja and Coors-Melling T-bird.

Re: Who needs LiPo?!

Good info, but one major downside to NiMH batteries that hasn't been mentioned is they lose their ability to take a full charge over time. That NiMH battery you haven't used for 3 years probably won't last more than a minute on a full charge anymore. Every cordless tool with NiMH batteries suffers t...

Yeah I guess rare and valuable are kind of different. You can argue any of the parts I make are rare, because I make things in low qty. But probably not very valuable. That reminds me...remember these? https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?t=30216&start=84 https://www.rc10talk.com/download/fil...

Re: What is the rarest R/C part you have

Over the years, I've accumulated more than a few very rare items, but not sure how to define "how rare is rare?"... My Lucas Agitator Pro-10 was pretty rare to begin with, but throw in the LiteSink and pair of Sees wheels, not to mention a full set I tracked down later, and it becomes even...
