Re: Traxxas Bandit indoor clay race build
Added rear “Big Bore” Traxxas shocks with Associated green springs, and Yokomo YZ-2 front shocks with Associated white springs. Added a rear sway bar and a front wing. The sway bar mounts don’t look like they clear, but there’s like 1mm of clearance. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rctech.net-vbull...

Re: Traxxas Bandit indoor clay race build
I know you mentioned putting the CV's on the back burner for now, but I'm curious, the axles your ordered... was it ExoTek kit # 2060? Nope. Those are the ones that I'm eyeballing for the future. The ones I actually got are basically the same design as the stock telescopics, but steel. They're all ...

Re: Traxxas Bandit indoor clay race build
The steel driveshafts ordered were advertised for the Bandit however they were too long, so I suspect it is for a Slash. Running the stock plastic driveshafts on it for now. Would like to get the Exotek drag CVDs in the future. It might be very difficult to find a CVD setup that fits the Bandit. I'...

Re: Traxxas Bandit indoor clay race build
As much as I hate modern Traxxas, I am a huge fan of their early race cars. The Bandit design does seem fossilized in the 90s with minimal updates since then. I'm starting to come around on Traxxas, but they take effort to make race-worthy, and by the time I spent all that money, I could've bought ...

Re: Traxxas Bandit indoor clay race build
No vacancy in the rx. It’s become a real rats nest. I’ll have to play with cleaning it up and rerouting things.

Re: Traxxas Bandit indoor clay race build
Ended up not needing to add weight to the front. It was actually pretty dialed with whatever setting I put on it. I was dying for more speed out of the 17.5, then remembered that I turned the timing to zero. Will need to get back to the track after blasting the timing up to 40. Otherwise, stuck a fa...

Re: Traxxas Bandit indoor clay race build
Great built! I love the antenna tube - really adds to the old school feel. I want to add one to my bandit even though I don't need it at all. lol Thanks! Yeah, I'm running an old school M11 with the Spektrum module, so I guess I need to put the antenna up. The steel driveshafts ordered were adverti...

Side by side with a B4 +8. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rctech.net-vbulletin/2000x2000/80-img_0342_f9bff1d176da0548db0ba10ff3f6deb244eb2c0e.jpeg The Bandito has about a 4mm longer wheelbase. Pretty much done. Just waiting on the driveshafts and transmission to be delivered. Bought the black gear...

Aluminum bulkhead finally came through. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rctech.net-vbulletin/2000x2000/80-img_0334_ff6ec9bfecc4d6941c564fefba488e7ce0fa0d01.jpeg So far, these parts have went together with no issue. No slop in the suspension at all. Everything is TIGHT, but I think that just means y...

Re: Traxxas Bandit indoor clay race build
Front end is done-ish. UPS lost the bumper so ordered a replacement. Looking like the aluminum bulkhead might be lost as well. If it doesn’t turn up by tomorrow I’ll order another. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rctech.net-vbulletin/2000x2000/80-img_0332_3dcb44a5ba85f3b322bfac1b948fba45121f14ed.jp...

Re: Traxxas Bandit indoor clay race build
Took the B6 body to the LHS to test fit on a Bandit, and it did not fit. I don't know how MXAcres was able to get one to fit on his. Looks like I'm getting a new body for it then, which is fine. Make rear cab great again. I was around when the transition to forward cab became all the rage with the P...

Re: Hex axle option
B4 with B6 front end and Yokomo shocks. Ran it at the track with different tires. Really not bad. Full range of motion. Ran the middle holes on the arms and it was pretty much back to normal for this car. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.rctech.net-vbulletin/2000x2000/80-img_0289_a878fad14e4a902143...

Re: Traxxas Bandit indoor clay race build
Really? I didn't know this. I always though the ae front axles weren't long enough to use with the traxxas steering blocks. If they work I'll have to get a set for mine because so far the front axles are the worst part of my build, lol. Yessir, check out this thread for details. I had to shim it ou...
