YZ-10 Shock tower identification please

Post by minichamps11 »

Anyone recognise these towers? They look roughly like the Pavidis WCS towers & brace but are different in the detail:

I'm guessing they're from the last version of the YZ-10, about 1997? Looks like the front shocks would use longer shafts than the WCS as the front tower is higher, giving more bump travel.

Edit: Duh, just noticed the header actually says " '97 " on it.

They are still available from CML in the U.K, handy as you can run longer modern shocks. A bit pricey at 42 GBP though.

Champs do you intend to use them on a YZ 10?

Where can I find more info on the '97 conversion? Photos or magazine review would be great.

A change from what I originally had done ... I found a set of the uber-rare Yokomo wheels mounts that fit MX4 wheels to the YZ10 universals.

Whilst we're on a roll, a few more photos to identify:

This tower looks more like a glassfibre version of a '96 Pavidis than a '94, but with a different wing mount location. Interesting part no. label as well - placed over what looks like a tyre header!

Thought these black towers were just a set of '94's dyed black but they are thicker material and might be aftermarket parts?

Here are the two overlaid by bottom fixings:

Any clues, Yokomo detectives?

ZD720 is for the '93 WCS ... rare car and probably very rare parts too.

I have some of those thicker ones too and have yet to find any info on them. I thought they might be custom made, but the existence of another set makes me think otherwise!

Chipping in on the threat if you don't mind
I have a nip of that front tower in fiberglass, not dyed black ofcourse
I have no reference to compare for thickness, but it looks pretty firm and the partnr is: ZD-712
Is that a standard part for a '94?
