RC10 Graphite - What to look for when purchasing

What should I look specifically when purchasing this chassis/rc? I know majority of the parts are available still from a bit of work done on my RC10 WE Black Tub but is there anything I should look for in the graphite variant? I know I may need to repurchase/redye all the plastic bits as it's dyed pink. I'm still waiting for high resolution pictures, but I think the most important would be the chassis, any modification/crack on it?

P.S. It's my understanding that the graphite is on for the 6 gear transmission, and new holes need be drilled to allow the stealth transmission to be used?

Like anything, I guess it comes down to how beat (or not) the actual chassis plate is.
CF can split, especially if the edges aren't sealed with CA, look for abuse along the edges.

There are several variations on the graphite chassis. There is a thread somewhere with the differences
(cue Scr8p and his photographic memory of every thread ever)
iirc the graphite was available with both the 6-gear and stealth trans. as well as regular and "team" versions.

I remember people making fun of my new RC10 bumper when I first showed up at the track. Nobody in my area ran them. Then I smacked a wall at an angle and immediately needed repairs. i think it was a plot by the track owner to get more sales!

I allways wondered why they didnt come standard with a front bumper.All my Grafite cars are delaminating in the front.Is it true that only the team cars came with the rear motor guard?None of my 6 gear ones have them.

At that time it didn't come in the kit but it was available as an option I believe. There were holes in the graphite 6 gear chassis for them to be mounted so it depends on everyone's personal definition of "original". Everything else is as original on my 6 gear graphite car as I can get it but it will have the rear motor guard in place because it doesn't look fully clothed without it, that is in my opinion.

Bumpers weren't cool , and few people have ever taken the time to seal their chassis with CA.

The motor guard is a piece of aluminum that replicates the pick up on the back of an aluminum chassis for a graphite chassis

That's what I thought you were talking about.
I thought that was included, in the box, with all the graphite kits back in the day??

the motor guards only came in the team car kit (stealth). the orginal 6 gear graphite chassis was drilled and countersunk to mount them, but they weren't included in the kits. why.......... i have no idea. just like i have no idea why they couldn't include a friggin front bumper.

show me a jrx2 that came with a bumper in the kit. i know they early ones didn't.

The original jr-x2 front bulkhead had a lip that sat in front of the chassis to protect the front end . I will have to check to see if it protruded past the bottom surface. pics tonight.
