Chromies Semi Polished RC 10 Runner

I got this buggy in a deal with some other white parts that I needed and a extra beat up A stamped chassis, for $10.

The buggy was almost complete with some pretty nice white parts, and a real nice B stamped chassis.
I decided to use the B stamped chassis for my RC10 T restoration, I buffed out all the scratches and painted it black , and it looks like brand new now.

The extra A stamped chassis that I got, was in horrible shape. It was in a fire, and was warped and had some pretty deep pitting.

I was able to flatten it back out to normal , and then I sanded the chassis, I got rid of all the major scratches , but allot of the deep pits, I was not able or willing to try and remove, since I decided to make it a runner, I didn't think it was worth it.

I decided to leave the chassis buffed and shiny, with a clear coat, since it will probably just get scratched up anyway. And I think it will look cool with the black parts that I ended up trading with Highwayracer.

I'm kinda of excited to build and drive my very first old school RC10.

Thats the first un-anodized chassis I have seen that looks decent. Most look way over polished while yours looks factory less the anodize. Great job!

Thanks Guys for all the complements, I made some more progress today, here's some more pictures.

I found a problem, (see the last two Pictures) the black rear bulk head I've got is different than all the white ones I have, It does not have the notches to let the rear pivot block move forward like it should.
What's the deal ? is this bulk head made for something else ?

The third picture from the bottom, is my newly discovered trick when you don't have the right hinge pin or the money to buy a new ones.
I discovered that a long Truck shock shaft is just about the right length for the rear arm pin, it a few thousandths smaller than your normal hinge pin , but for now it will do. I cut off a few threads and used some mini lock nuts, what do you think ?

That's looking really sweet. A really striking look of black and unanodized aluminum. It looks like you took a scuff pad and made it that way which I assume you actually did in some manner. Keep up the good work.

Thanks buddy, I didn't use any kind of scuff pad, I was really trying to polish it the best way I could, with fine steel wool and never dull.

Thanks, I've only got about $20. in it so far, and If you would have seen how bad the chassis looked when I got it , you would probably be willing to run it.

I was not into RC BITD. so I would really like to see what these old buggies drive like.

That looks nice. I have stripped my chassis,and was going to full polish it, but I kinda like this look a bit better.....

Also, what method did you use to straighten out the chassis? Mine has a slight bow to it, and the front nose piece is tweaked as well.....
