If I wanted to tune down the speed of a motor, can I use the Throttle EPA adjustment to do it??

Or would it have to be the EXP adjustment??

I want to use my 5.5 on the T4, but gearing it down can hurt the ESC, and running it as is, it's too much to handle in a small track like RCHR.

Can I tune it down using the EPA adjustment??

Thank you.

Yes, I use this all the time if I have a motor that's too fast for the track. With rubber tires I turn down the EPA down to the point where the tires stop ballooning. Just be sure to check the ESC heat sink after a few minutes to make sure it doesn't get too hot.

EXP is for setting how sensitive the throttle is around neutral.

+1

Between the EPA and perhaps different gearing, you essentially have a 5.5, 6.5, 7.5, 8.5, etc.....
This way, when you dial it down and if the power curve is too short, you can slightly gear up!

I ran the truck this weekend with the 5.5 and turned the EPA down to 70% and she was a beast out there, now it's on to acquiring a Lipo pack and I'll have my race truck set up properly.
