the 1:1 scale car thread

Post by germanrc10gt »

ok guys

everyone of us likes pics much better than anything else. so why not make an thread for all our full size cars.
i have a new car that i'm still working on (actually not much to do, installing new radio gear, stuff like that), but i'll wash it and wax it this weekend and i'll shoot some pics. what about your cars. show us your daily driver, your runner, your projects. i would like to see some american legends. anyone with a dodge ram or chevy silverado? or camaro?

and thankfully, that "one day" will be coming a lot sooner, since this past sunday, i finally found a 2dr. sedan body that is in good enough condition to get the pieces i need to make it happen. :D

i have a trans am and a samurai.

the zuk i bought just before the winter, and its my daily driver.

the trans am i've had for the past 4 years. i havent done anything really special to it besides sub frame connectors and tubular rear control arms and panhard bar. i also put a '08 z06 clutch in it with a ls2 aluminum flywheel. i'd like to finish off the suspension with some different springs and shocks, then maybe some new wheels or get the factory ones widened, and then maybe possibly someday putting an sts turbo system in it or something.

it does have a pretty wicked audio system that i spent a whole lotta money and time on. memphis audio, cdt, jlaudio, alpine, peerless... it easily took 3-4 times as long to prep the car with deadening and wire termination than it took to actually install the stuff.

Sorry No vintage iron here. My wife and I each have our cars but we switch off often. The G35 is the one I mainly drive. It has a 6 speed manual tranny so it's lots of fun to drive. The car is equipped with all the option like the Nismo Body Kit, GPS, Bose 6 disc CD changer with XM satellite Radio. I've done a few things like change the g35 intake out for the 350Z intake. Change the resonator to the one from the coupe. Lowered the car with Eibach springs. I just recently got a new clutch with a lighter Flywheel. Put set of 19" staggered wheels.

Image

My wifes car is a Lexus GX470. It's bone stock but has all the options like GPS and DVD entertainment. The only thing I changed was the tires to something a little bit more aggressive looking

Image

We also have a 1985 Ford F150 that was the truck i first learned to drive in. It's basically relegated to hauling around our dirtbikes and Home Depot runs.

That brings back memories, I worked on a carbir for quite a while running in the ACRL and then the short lived SCCA pro super sports 2000 pro series.

there is one thing (among others) i find pretty odd about american cars. is there a law
that tells car makers to use that ugly orange corner lights? i think they don't fit a car at all.
especially that black cadillac would look much better with white corner lights.
couldn't you change them to clear/white ones?

It is a US requirement. Lots of folks on the VW forums go to great lenghts to get rid of the orange side markers, but I've left mine alone. My daily driver, a 2006 GTI w/ DSG:

Tamiya is releasing a 1/10 scale version which I will have to get.

looks good. is it the 200hp engine or 230hp? anyway, i know they are fast.
do your friends in the vw forum have to order new lights in germany? if you need something for your car
you can't get gimme a call. i had one golf II gt until last week. i really liked it, so quick. should have kept it as a winter car :(

another one of my projects would be my 91 s-10. it's also my daily driver. all i really did to it so far was a 5" static drop.
Pic019.JPG
but, if i c-notch the frame and bag it, it should sit something like this. :)

and if i c-notch the frame, bag it, and give it a slight body drop, i should end up with something like this. :D
