Team Associated Nitro TC3 Ads

Post by Dangeruss »

In 2001 Team Associated unveiled a gas-powered version of their TC3 touring car, the aptly named Nitro TC3. Sharing precious few parts with the electric TC3, the Nitro sported a blue anodized aluminum plate chassis with radiused sides, plastic chassis braces and upper deck. Slotted motor mounts allowed fitment of .12 and .15 motors to the gear driven two speed transmission. Power was sent to beefed up ball differentials with pressed in friction disks though an aluminum driveshaft and braking was handled by a laminated lining equipped caliper acting on a heat-treated carbon steel rotor. Suspension used the same coil over shocks as the electric TC3 with plastic shock towers but featured a fully adjustable double a-arm suspension with pillow blocks and a reversed bellcrank steering system with adjustable turnbuckles. Full bearings and Pro-Line Gumby wheels fitted with their V-Rage rubber tires rounded out the kit which was available in an RTR version with clip adjusted plastic bodied shocks, single speed transmission, uni-drive dogbones, Jaguar Ace radio system, .12 engine and Dodge Stratus or Honda Accord painted body; an unassembled Team version with clip adjusted blue anodized shocks, two speed transmission and MIP CVD's, less body, radio and engine; And an unassembled Factory Team kit with threaded blue shocks, one way front diff, MIP CVD's, Titanium turnbuckles, blue anodized pipe and manifold as well as blue anodized screws and graphite chassis components, less engine, electronics and body:
