Need this car identified
Hey, i need this car identified, not sure what exactly it is, front suspension has a different suspension peices then orriginal, original looks like rear. I have all the parts for this car intact except for one main tranny gear, wel get to that later.
I have all the parts to make it go, may be a little ugly till paint, cleanup, and rebuild, but my main tranny gear, one half of the differential i believe, is chewed up, and it doesnt run right. I need this gear, trade options after the picture. If you can identify the car, please let me know, and if you know where to buy the part strait up (not ebay, my dad doesnt like ebay) like tower hobbies, let me know. If you know what car it is and have the part, i will make the following trade options.
If you have a spare of the top gear in the picture above, i can offer you the folowing:
-$10+ shipping
-Any stock black plastic e/tmaxx parts unoppened maybe, oppened but never used, or open and slightly used (my uncle poured hundreds to make my emaxx all aluminum, and i have virtually every plastic part unused lying arround.
-this entire car, w/out electric (servos, radio, engine), works great, but has rear suspension problem, dirty, needs paintjob for certain parts, you must provide shipping for this option -or if your generous, and just want to give the part to me
-or as a last resort, ill give you all of the parts i have for this car in exchange for any rc10 parts, stealth tranny for orriginal rc10
pm me for any trade options, btw, all aluminum parts on this car were hand filed based on pictures according to the orriginal owner who i have lost contact with

The bottom one is a Futaba FX-10. The top looks to be a Kyosho Optima knock off, don't have a clue what it is.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

The top one is a Great Vigor Beagle. Spares weren't available when it was new, thankfully it was a copy of the Kyosho Optima so parts for the Optima will fit. A Kyosho optima diff gear will fit, part number OT-27. You won't find them in any shop though as they haven't been made for at least 18 years, ebay is your only source.

You just need the outer gear right? I'm pretty sure I've got at least one. I'll send you a PM after dinner...

Thank you so much man, this car meant a lot to the original owner, I would love to see it running again.

I can maybe help too, and towerhobbies might have a part that could work also. Let me know if you're not getting out of trouble.

Re: Need this car identified
The only problem with the beagle is that the arms are too short or the dog bones are too long. When you set up the camber to the proper specifications (0 to -2 degrees negative) the dog bones bind. Most of the ones I've seen (including the one I built) had to have a few degrees of positive camber.

As far as that gear goes i believe an ultima one also worked on the optima.
I only have one extra and it's for my ultima after I run my mamba through it. lol

Re: Need this car identified
that's correct: the optima just has a different half on the other side: with teeth for the chain
about those dogbones: which length are the originals, too long says highway racer, but what does it mean?
Can you measure them from crosspin to crosspin?

Re: Need this car identified
I have a new pair of front beagle arms...so I'll compare that to the optima arms that I have.

Hello, I've got a NIb Beagle and I've checked the arms and they are the same as the Optima. can send a scan of the manuel if needed.

Thanks for the info Bullfrog...
The front and rear hubs are pretty much identical to the optima. So, the issue must be somewhere in the drivetrain (axles, dog bones, differential).
