are all spread spectrum recievers compatable?

i want to make an order from tower for a few things, but they arent selling nomadio stuff anymore, and i really need another reciever for my nomadio react. will a futaba 2.4ghz reciever work? i know the horizonhobby spektrum brand is compatable...

Spektrum = Spektrum only

Futaba FASST = Futaba only

Nomadio = all of the above

Is that a recent change? I took a look at the nomadio support site and found this:

I've seen guys at the track using them together, but if Nomadio says no, I'd believe them over anything else. I had heard somewhere that the system that Futaba uses was a derivative of the Nomadio 2.4 technology, but I don't know that to be true.

i've been searching like crazy the past 30 or so minutes and that post from the nomadio support boards is the ONLY bit of info i found that said anything about futaba/nomadio compatability.

doug, if you happen to remember could you ask somebody whos using a nomadio with a futaba receiver whats the deal?

I was at a carpet track in Wisconsin when I saw guys using them together. I may not have seen or heard what I thought I saw if Nomadio says nada on the compatibility thing.

that makes sense because the new futaba 4pk radio looks similar to a Nomadio style radio.

Has anyone used one of those Losi spektrum receivers? Have you heard any complaints? I read that they are compatible with Spektrum and are much cheaper too. How do they compare in size?

The Losi ones are completely compatible with Spektrum... they're actually just the original recievers (non "pro") with a different case. An interesting sidenote is that the FASST ones are not ALL compatible with all futabe 2.4ghz systems... We have a bunch of them for the 3pk FASST and then had a few of the lower FASST radio's recievers and they don't work together. I.E. you can't have both kinds of Futaba 2.4 recivers and control them with the 3PK

The losi rx does work fine with the standard spektrum stuff.
The MSRP for the rx unit (#losb0806)is listed as 59.99 in the original mini-Slider parts list, and it was available for ~$45.

The price was a lot cheaper until a couple of months ago. On their website Horizon raised the MSRP to 109 and the MAP to 74.99, they must have realized that many folks were buying them instead of the 79.99 spektrum branded ones.
