Losi XX Kinwald build
Here goes another XX build. This is a new genuine Kinwald Edition XX. I am building it as a shelfer with plenty of tasty upgrades from Trinity, MIP, HG, and Lunsford.
I can't seem to get enough of these XX buggies.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald build
I also have this love of the XX cars. Umm, if you don't use those 'cuda ti outdrives, I would like to speak to about them.

You may know me as Jessica. Or, that girl that raced a Stampede at SoCal Raceway. Maybe, that girl with the big big block El Camino.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald build
If you have a XX sitting around, let me know. I'd love to build a runner.
I missed two on ebay back in March, bid 20 seconds too early.... My buddy and I have been reliving our youth with the XXTs. He had a XX, and I've never driven one!
Cheers

Re: Losi XX Kinwald build
Update to this build. The main problem I have for this build is the genuine blue Losi Kinwald motor plate is a different shade of blue to the rest of the Trinity blue parts. I am thinking of having it re-anodized, but it seems a shame to do that to a mint unit, as there aren't too many around. I think I may eventually anodize one of my MK1 straight milled motor plates in a matching blue for this build. That would allow the best of both.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald build
Getting closer. I had originally intended to keep the blue bling to a minimum on this build, but it didn't exactly end up that way. However I did end up changing out some blue hardware to black. I ended up taking the new Trinity hubs from my runner build and putting them on this one. It is a much better fit. I also love the look of the polished axles. I put on front titanium axles to match.
Notice the mismatched shade of blue between the Trinity parts and the Kinwald motor plate.
I am going to try to make my own front bumper from Kydex. I am going to try to replicate the RPM bumper which extends forward more than stock.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald build
Wheels mounted and I made a cushioned style front bumper similar in style to the RPM.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald build
Thanks Essejay!
This body came to me in very poor condition. I forgot to take a before photo, but it wasn't pretty. I spent several hours removing scratches, polishing, cleaning up cut lines, fixing window lines, and finally adding decals and a wing. I think I will be changing the wing decals/painting it. It just doesn't look right to me.
The body still isn't great, and I don't love yellow, but it's nice to actually have a painted Losi body, lol.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald build
I'm not a fan of yellow either, but your build is gorgeous and the attention-to-detail with the consistent color scheme is excellent. I like how you painted the body with the black paint splatters. Even the wing buttons match.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald build
I really like the build!
But I do kinda disagree. I think your choice of the body is spot on.
The blue goes well with the anodized bling and springs, the yellow goes nicely with the wheels.
Wheel disks... maybe. Be interesting to maybe see them in the blue color of the body???
Other than that, an other beautiful car.

Re: Losi XX Kinwald build
^ Thanks! The body is growing on me as well.
I installed this Trinity GT motor. I don't know much about them, but I thought it matched well, and is about the correct vintage. I wanted to do something different from another D2 motor.
