870C bulkhead caps

Post by slazzaro »

Hello everybody,
I am looking for some spare bulkhead caps, the front one in particular.
They are very rare now, so I'll have to be very patient..
Has anyone tried the 3D printed ones from Shapeways? If so, how do they look?
It would be nice seeing some pictures if possible.
Thank you!

I would check shapeways and search. Bulkhead caps for 870c are like THE perfect application for printed parts.

My concern, especially on the front one, is the smooth curvature that could result stepped on the printed part.
That's why I would like to see some examples of possible..

well yeah, they won't be aesthetically perfect. but I've learned that there is some kind of coating that you can apply to parts to make them smoother. the shapeways stuff does a great job with curves and such, but the finish is kind of like beadblasted aluminum.

If they were resin 3d printed the finish would be virtually perfect , you just need the file

Looks like there are two folks offering them on Shapeways:
