Hi,
I am currently rebuilding an old Lazer ZX-RR. Should be an upgraded budget runner, not 100% original.
I have built in some Fibre Lyte carbon parts and a stronger front diff housing from Alcylon. The shocks are big bore aluminum LRP and are originally hop ups for a BLAST 4wd.
Motor will be either a LeMans Super Pro HF Torque or High Speed (not sure about that now).
So far I am happy with what I have got so far.
Now my questions:
- It seems the drive (swing) shafts (OT-6 rear and (W5063 front) are a bit short (see picture). The have a lot of pay in the wheel shafts (OT-18). Has anybody an idea how to resolve that? Maybe longer drive shafts?
- Also I miss the bushing #197 to assemble the main shaft in the rear gear box. Can I build the gears without it, maybe using the ballbearing like in the MK1 ZX? Or can anybody tell me where to get this #197 busing? Any idea how to resolve that?
I appreciate your comments and advice.

Re: Kyosho Lazer ZX-RR Project
Hi,
I have now used the ZX MK1 solution instead of the #197 part and it seems to work well. Indeed it is just to have the right space between the pulleys.
The shocks are LRP Big Bore from a LRP Blast but I do not really like them. Look nice but work poor...
I am now searching for a good (NiMh) saddle pack battery holder and posts, similar to the original version but maybe carbon / aluminum solution.
Any idea?
Also I need a wing mount (UMW1) and a good complete ZXR body.
Can anyone help me finding those parts? Maybe a good recommendation for a vintage shop?
Volker
