Meine Oberste Kraft !
Hello friends,
I recently purchased a TopFroce 2017 to re-live my previous life as a happy-go-lucky, skim-on-meals-to-save-for-that-trinity-motor, they-don't-know-what-it-means-to-dump-before-4mins, Boy-Racer!
Needless to say, I scoured the interweb for go-fast (or at least, less breakable) goodies to make Meine Top Force the Toppest of Forces.
Below is a list of goodies I installed; they fitted together perfectly and I DO have the Alpha-Predator at our local vintage bashing group.
From RCJaz:
-alloy TL01 C-hubs
-alloy Ta01 Front Uprights
-alloy 12mm Drive hexes
-alloy Ta01 front gearbox cover
-alloy Ta01 rear gearbox cover
-alloy rear upright zero degrees (i later removed it and installed Tamiya M05RA rear uprights cos I wanted the extra ground clearance and the 2 degree toe-in)
-alloy 1-piece motor mount
From RCMart:
-Yeah Racing Full carbon kit (chassis, mecha deck, towers)
-3Racing Titanium turnbuckles all round (except the centre drag link between the Steering bellcranks... it was pointless to have a turnbuckle at that position)
-GMade 93mm emulsion shocks all round (in retrospec, the front could have been 85mm, but I do bash at a super rutted track...)
I used most of the stock self tapping screws because I found that they cracked tamiya plastic the least. Machine screws seem to crack tamiya plastics really easily
The few machine screws that were used in the kit, i swapped them out for allen head machine screws. So far, everything has held up very well.
Electronics:
-Hobbywing Just Stock ESC
-LRP X12 13.5T brushless motor (using the 21T pinion)
-Battery holders are old Kawada items I rummaged from my hoard.
-GoTeck BL1511SG (12KG at 0.074sec/60degrees, sold at usd25, why not?)
-Hitec Axon2 Rx
-Shorty lipo packs
I painted this scheme based on a touring car paintjob i did awhile back. Also, I really liked the TF Evo zigzags.
Also, my rear ball diff stripped (oh surprise...) at the splines, so I dremelled a M05 gear diff case to fit and used that instead.
Enjoy!
Alexander
