Shock O-rings

First, I have to appolgize because I'm sure this question has been asked and answered before. However, I searched "shock o-ring" on this forum and wasn't able to answer all of my questions amoung the three or four pages of posts.
Second appology; although I'm not new to RC, I am new to this website so unfortunately I will ask some dumb questions. Sorry about that. I ask for your patience.
Okay, so if your still with me, here are my questions.
Do any of the members here purchase your shock o-rings in bulk and, if you do, how do they compare with those from Associated (ref. part number 5407)? I think these are 1/8 ID, 1/16 CS silicone which makes them uniform dash number -006. Is this correct? I can purchase 100 of these from The O-ring Store LLC for $10 shipped to my door. Are there better/cheaper sources? Do the bulk rings seal as good or perhaps better that those supplied by Associated? I'm curious to hear your experiences. I've always used the 5407's but I've been going through a lot of them lately and I would like to save some money where I can. Thanks everyone.

I use these from McMaster Carr. They are a slightly different orange but other than that, seem identical. They end up in all my shocks

Thanks. I'll give them a try. It does seem unlikely that Associated would use non-standard design and/or a proprietary material formulation for their seals. And it's so much better than $2.99 for a pack of 8. Thanks again for the feedback.

You could check the Durometer of the ones you saw at the other store, they might be the same. Always good to have multiple sources. McMaster is usually quite awesome on shipping cost and speed, but it sucks ordering blind not knowing how much it will cost

Thank you sir. I recall that the rings from the other source were also 70 duro. Some elastomers offer up multiple hardness options but I think with silicone it's just available in 70.
I keep forgetting about McMaster (for some reason they don't appear near the top on my google searches so I forget). They are an especially good source for raw materials (I have ordered G10 from them in the past). However, I think in this instance I may take a chance and go with the cheaper source at $0.10 each including shipping. They might be junk, who knows. I will try to remember to update this thread. If it hasn't rained recently or if I don't take time to hose down the backyard track, it can become incredibly dusty which is why I am burning through seals. But, I have to say that it has been so worth the hassle rebuilding shocks. With a track close at hand, I've been able to learn so much more about suspension tunning than bitd when I only raced but didn't have access to a track for testing. I used to scoff at guys who mixed shock oils of differing viscosities to tune their cars. Now I will speculate that those guys actually tested their setups between races and better understood the value of proper dampening.
