Futaba 4GRS 2.4Ghz compatible receiver

Post by Hcp22 »

I'm thinking to upgrade and replace my +20 year old Futaba 1024 radio, and get me a Futaba 4GRS 2.4Ghz. With a new radio you need (at least I do ) a handful of extra receivers to your runners. Futaba receivers cost around $70-80, which means $400 worth of receiver you need to buy.
My question is "simple": Is there no receiver you can us to your Futaba radio other than Futabas own receiver?

I believe there is only the futaba rx for the futaba tx. Its a vicious cycle for these. If you want futaba quality you have to pay the price :| .

Just what I suspected… The good thing is that I found Futaba rx (R304SB the same that come with the radio) just under $50 shipped to Sweden.
But I heard that RadioLink R4EH-H 2.4G 4CH FHSS should work just fine, and maybe I just buy one for test sins it cost less than $10 each.

I know Hobbyking sells compatible receivers for the Futaba FASST systems that are made by FrySky and I use them with my 3PM radio just fine. I did a quick search and came up with some. Might save you money in the long run...

The reviews make them a risky proposition I think..

There is always a risk when you go with other than original. On the other hand, I don't Orange would promise there receiver compatible with Futaba FHSS and S-FHSS if it wasn't, Its worth testing together with RadioLink.
Thanks for the input guys! :D

The FrySky RX's had me a little skeptic as well, but have work great for me.

I found a 2 channel Futaba receiver FPR202GF that cost under $40. The thing is I have only found the receiver at the Swedish importer MiniCars and nothing at Futabarc.com. Well, I don't think the Swedish importer MiniCars is unique, there must be others out there that have this receivers.
