Re: Optima is back!!
Well this is awesome. Thanks for all the pictures.
I noticed in one of the pictures it was assembled and obviously had a chain drive then in another picture
it is showing belt diffs. I'm really quite curious to see this in person. Guess I'll have to get one.
On another note this couldn't be more timely. About a month ago I started restoring my original 1985 model Optim
and took it on it's first drive this evening. So I came inside and now pictures for this. Perfect.

It comes with both chain and belt, and narrow and wide bumpers.

I'm in. Then i'll get an Ultima, Javelin and Mid SE if they do them. I just hope they give around 6 months between each release so I can gradually blend them into my collection without raising too much suspicion.
It's kind of funny when you look at it. Our parents used to be the limiting factor on our RC budget, now it's our wives...
Cheers,
Michael.

Okay last chance, where´s Phin?
Look at the bottom of the shock bodies - They are not serrated!
I´m telling You - the shocks have grown!

Re: Optima is back!!
Dennis seems to be a little concerned with their girth

I was looking at this too and noticed there were only 2 screws in the top plate above the servo where there used to be 4.
Yes they definitely fixed the servo mounting.

Just to bust balls...the page actually says 10mm diameter aluminum cylinder.DennisM wrote:Yup - 10mm bore The spring retainers at the bottom are different too - more like the ones on the golds.
Maybe they meant "bore" instead of "diameter"...or maybe not.

Re: Optima is back!!
If any of you are interested in seeing the Optima as it was raced in the mid-80's I've just uploaded pictures of the car that won the Euros in 1986 in he scans archive.
