Yokomo MX-4 Masami style - Rauma Finland 1999
A while ago i built a Yokomo MX-4, in the form of a not so well known late Masami MX-4 version. At that time he already used a modernized body design which most people know from the B3, MR-4BX and touring cars.
I already got hold of some of the stickers, this is a rare shot of his Finland car:

I dig it! Gonna be putting my new MX-4 together in the future and I think that's what I'll be doing for paint.

My MX4 has 2x4 Saddle Pack Sanyo 2000MA. I bought newer Nimh 5000 but they came in 3x3. Seems no one sells premade 2x4 and the 3x3 doesn't fit too well. I'm not a fan of pulling the 3x3 apart to make it 2x4 like the old days.
Do you know if 2x4 premade is sold by anyone?

I dont think anybody make old school battery packs anymore. You'll have to get a newer stick pack and rebuild it how you like.

I can make a lipo tray that fits a shorty lipo on the right side. No extra holes to drill or anything. For other lipo configurations, the mx4 requires drilling. Its an option if you must run the car,, and not keen on making custom packs just for it.

I buy stickpacks where you can see the idividual cells so when you take em apart the shrinkwrapping is on each cells and not a single shrinkwrapping for 3 cells.KrAcOn wrote:My MX4 has 2x4 Saddle Pack Sanyo 2000MA. if you look at an orion stickpack you will see what i mean
they brake easily and then you can make 3+3 or 2+4 easily, have made several packs and never had any problems...

It's something I'll get back too. Right now I have been more into running my 4.2,B5 and 44.2 at the track. The MX4 is sitting there asking when he can a go at it again... Then the B3 sitting next to him gets upset.

Actually, I know that Gens Ace makes 2S LiPo packs that are very close to the size & shape of old-school NiCad/NiMH battery packs, right down to the curved edges. Unfortunately they're sold out at HobbyPartz.com at the moment...if this is what you're referring to by "old-school battery packs":Superathlete wrote:I dont think anybody make old school battery packs anymore.
