My Vintage Kyosho Collection
Well, I have been buying online and building a vintage Kyosho rc collection and I finally have most of the ones I wanted, I am still waiting on a turbo scorpion and a rc10talk member is painting and decaling one for me. I grew up in the 80's and always wanted these, but my parents could not afford them, so now that I can afford them I am going to buy the one's I like. Here are some photos of the one I have. If needed I could take more pics. Let me know what you think.

Thanks, the vanning, scorpion and advance were built by the same person. The vanning has never been used, it's mint. The gentleman I purchased these from even tossed in a brand new max os .21 vrx for the vanning as a backup. I have two more on the way from different sellers a assault and turbo scorpion.

I don't know of any vintage rc race clubs yet, but I hope there are. I am new to the rc car racing, I always wanted them as a kid, but never had the chance. For now I am just enjoying collecting them and running them in parking lots. I need to get a clunker, so I can do some bashing!

Re: My Vintage Kyosho Collection
Hi Kev and welcome to RC10 talk
Very nice start for your collection. We have the same thing in common, always wanted a (real) RC as a child, but never got one. I just started collecting about a year ago myself. You will find lots of friendly collectors here with lots of knowledge. Are you more into buying finished (built) buggies than building/restoring yourself? If so, you are denying yourself a ton of fun!
I love the paint schemes on your buggies, very nice. That is the only part of this hobby that I don't enjoy. I would if I were any good at it, but we can't all be artists
Sweet deal on finding a mint Vanning. One of these days I am going to stop building Optima's and venture into Nitro. I don't have a single Nitro buggy in my collection, but an Assault or Vanning would be my first choice.

Re: My Vintage Kyosho Collection
I have mostly purchased mint Kyosho's, but I do have some that I will be rebuilding, such as the graupner kart 10, I have two of them and one needs completely rebuilt and luckily I have most of the new parts such as a frame, NOS screws, driver doll and misc. pats. I also have a assault that needs restored and a brand RC10T4 kit that I will be building soon. I will probably enjoy the collecting and building more than running them. The one thing I will not attempt at this point is painting, I have zero artistic skills and would fail miserably. If you do go Nitro, I would recommend a Advance, it's similar to a scorpion, I really like mine and I am looking for another to rebuild.

Re: My Vintage Kyosho Collection
Topnotch stuff kevcrid. The Vanning is my favorite buggy of all time. I grew up only knowing Tamiya, and like yourself and alot of other members could not afford any growing up. So when i had the money, i bought the odd car here and there. Then i discovered Kyosho and some other rare makes and my tastes changed. I ended up selling all my Tamiya cars except for the 2 childhood ones and a few vintage ones. Then set about getting those on my wishlist which i finally completed a week ago. Now for the tough part...restoring all of them.

Wait, wait, wait, a second here..........what's the deal with the go-kart? Is it a model, or an RC car? Or maybe one of those string-circle racer things?
Re: My Vintage Kyosho Collection
RC car(t) with a 1.5cc engine, they came with a driver figure too! Search Kyosho Go Kart 10
